I am joining the Navy real soon, and I would like to know how some of you vets would rate your enlistment period. I am doing it for non combatal reasons such as schooling, VA loan, travel, etc. My girl lives in GA, and they promised they could station me near her, do you think that is probable? What am I REALLY looking at as far as trips are concerned? I hear there is a max of about 6th months out at sea. I could deal with that, but I dont want to spend my whole 6 years out there. Also, how is boot camp? I can run a solid 2.5 miles without hitting the dirt, is that enough? I am 6ft 4 and about 250 lbs, do you think they will stick me on a sub? Anyways, anyone with some useful info, or heads ups, please feel free to comment.
