Anyone near Okemos/Haslett/EL, I may need help

I am gettin' kind of pissed about my wheel situation And nobody can seem to figure out what I need. I have never dealt with changing studs 'n **** or a wheel change that was so friggin complex! Anyone willing to take a look at it with me to help me figure out what the hell I really am going to have to do to fit these rear wheels on?

Is Okemos near Lansing?... I know I use an Okemos road when I am going up there. Can you elaborate a bit on the problems you are having ?

Are your wheel studs too short, is that the issue?

99 Vette rims. Nobody seems to know wtf you actually have to do to make them fit. Even people who have em on their cars, I do what they say and it doesn't work!

They are 18x9.5 and I am using 275-40-18" tires on em. They are just not fitting. Its not a rubbing issue so much as its a i-cant-get-it-to-fit issue. Even without the 5/16" spacer I cant get enough thread to come thru and I am guessing it may have to do with the center hole on the wheel? I need some help looking at this..

Edit: the 61mm backspacing is whats creating alll these problems. Thats why I bought the spacer..

Dude, they are hitting the jounce bumper on the body. You know the one that the axle hits if it travals too far up.
You can take them off or some people cut them down to make the wide wheels work.

Its not that. I think it has something to do with the hub?? Because I reached in and ran my hand around in behind the wheel and I didn't feel ANYTHING rubbing.

Edit:

I'm just trying to figure out how much longer my new studs are going to have to be to fit the spacer and get thru the new wheels...

I had the same problem with my WS6 Rims, the center hub on the rear axle was too large.

They seemed like they would fit but just wouldn't.

I took a die grinder to the inside hub of the rim and enlarged it now they fit no problem.

But doesn't grinding/filing down the inside center hole of the rim weaken the wheel??

Your not taking a whole lot off, just a couple 1000's of an inch.
