Anyone lower their car?

I was thinking of lowering my car. I just don't want to scrape all of the time. Anyone do this? I want to know how you did it (springs, etc,) and how you like it. Any pics?

I've lowered my '98 Z........lowered it to much.
I used Eibach LS1 Sportlines - a 2" inch drop, and they lowered my car just over 2"inches.

I RUB EVERYWHERE!
I rub my nose all the time - I'm getting used to the sound of it now. I also rub my exhust pipe (where the cats would be) over any speed bump.

I don't have pics yet, but I will soon.
Once I get enough money to get new springs, they will be coming out. I will still lower my car, but only 1" inch.

Check my sig to see some stock pics of my car, and all my mods.

I dropped my 3rd gen with Eibach Pro Springs. It is a 1.6 drop in front and 1.3 drop in the rear according to Eibach. My car is a vert so it's a little heavier so I am guessing over time the springs will sag and it will drop a little more.I have no problems with scraping, rubbing,Etc. The car rides so much better with the Eibachs over the stockers.Hard to believe but the way I was told is because they are a progressive rate spring where some of the others are not.Overall I am very happy with them. My friend has a 86 Iroc with the Hotchkis 1" drop springs. He also has Long tube hookers on there which is the lowest part of the car. He has scraped a few times but that was over some pretty rough stuff. The ride from those is also good in my opinion. My roomate has a 98 SS dropped about 2" on Eibach Sportlines going down the road it is OK but speed bumps are a challenge for his car.He would not recommend these. If he had to do it all over again he would go with Eibach Pro Kit or G2 Springs from LG Motorsports. If you have any questions for me or my roomate feel free to e mail me.Hope this helped shed some light on your dilema.

I was lowered probably a good 1-1.5" with no problems but I am swapping back to stock so I can get some better 60 foot times. I'm willing to sell the springs I took off for pretty cheap. When I put slp takeoffs in, my car kinda looked goofy because I was used to the lower look, but I got used to it. I have pics of the car with the springs in if anyone wants to see what the springs did.

Let me know how much you want for them if you get them off. What are they also, Eibach, G2, ?

I still gotta swap the front springs but that will be soon since I'm on break in two days. I honestly don't know what kind they are because the previous owner of the car put them on. Make an offer. I'll accept almost anything since I really have no need for them once they are off. How far are you from Warren, MI? Drop me an email and we can work out the specifics there. Take care, Sean

Eibach Pro. That will be your best bet. The worst thing about those springs will be when you take the car in for an alignment, or to get it on a lift. My headers have dents in them from that. So be there when they try to lift it. You may have to lift up on the fenders to even get the arms under there. Good luck.

i've got a little over 2 in the front and 1.5 in the back with my eibach's. love the looks and the performance, but it's a pita when trying to do any work on her. have to use 2x4's to get a jack or a lift under it and it's extremely close when going into my beavertailed trailer. the price you pay though i guess.

definately go with the pro-kit, the ride is excellent. if you don't mind some hassles go with the sportlines although you will need some extra pieces to go along with it.
