anyone here need some work done to there cars?
ta jack, those are the bolts Ive seen. look real nice. I was too cheap to buy them for my own car though. we'll see if the header bolts ever come loose. the 300mi. I put on the eng. before the bearing went out they never loosened at all. we can do your car whenever since its not too difficult.
murdock, no unfortunatly that is one of the few things I dont do. whats wrong w/your a/c? I can replace parts, but you'll have to either go somewhere to have it charged, or bring it to my work and pay to have it charged. the evaporator core is the only thing I wont do on the a/c system. if its leaking and you dont know where from yet, you'll need to take it to a shop where they will put in dye and recharge it to find out where its coming out at.
nomar, I can do your shocks for sure. not too hard for me to do. is the car driveable at this time? Id prefer to do them here, but maybe I can come out to you for a fee if need be. just for the shocks only if you bring the car to me $40. if you want an alignment, I can do that too but obviously that would have to be done at my work.

How much are you selling it for?
Chris,
I have a big problem, I hope I am not too far back "in line" to get you to look at it...
Thursday I noticed a faint clunk coming from somewhere in the rear of the car, sort of randomly. Yesterday through the day it began to steadily worsen... mostly around corners. Late in the day, it got to where you could DEFINATELY hear something was not right in the back end... Got it to my buddy's house, and we looked at it in the driveway. Motor off, in neutral, we rolled it forward and back. Every 3-4 seconds, it will make a metallic POP or CLICK noise as it moves along. More pronouced if you are turning the car in either direction. we jacked up the rear and with no load on the wheels, you can spin them by hand with zero noise. Once one the ground with load = noise.
So at this point, I am thinking best case its a wheel bearing, worst case the entire rear end has grenaded on me. But this is beyond my capabilities to diagnose without ALOT of work, and even then I am not sure how I feel about doing it. So I am looking to see if you can make a house call, 696-Woodward area. The garage has a full chasis lift so you can walk around under it if you want, air tools, and a tool box that is taller than me and full of stuff. My buddy is a former mechanic who worked exclusively on German stuff - he helps me with alot, but he suggested I find expert F-Body help for this...
I'm thinking, I could have you come out one evening next week to look at it, make you a nice big steak dinner to make it worth the trip .... then if its something you can or want to fix, we can talk price for the job. How's that sound? The crappy part for me is, I am supposed to leave town around 2pm today ... wont be back til Tuesday.
I will try to check the forums in the meantime, and we could talk on the phone, but the soonest we could look at the car is Wednesday.
Thanks for reading my saga. Hope we can work something out...

yeay i might be able help ya out. you can do something that will make it alittle more clear if you'd like though. take off the driveshaft and try your push around test. if its the rear, it will still be there. if its in the driveshaft or trans, it will be gone. also you can take this time to make sure your ujoints are in good shape. problem is, rear gears is one thing I wont do. I'll leave that to the pro, Scott Koresky. he's not far from you at all and he does exc. work at great prices. skoresky@yahoo.com
if you want, I can come out to help ya diag. it, then if its gears, he can do the repair. if we find something else, we can go from there. make it $20 and I can come out and do the driveshaft test and insp. the suspension while Im at it. I dont think the axle bearings would do anything like that though. and as for the weeknights, sure no problem. Im takin the weekend off anyways for some wifey time. just call my cell when you get back in town and we can set something up. or email me if you want to.

Hmm...you're in Dearborn Heights? That's pretty conveniant.
The rear seal on my transmission is leaking. It's a small leak, but enough to leave a spot on the garage floor, so I was thinking of having it repaired. I'd do it myself, but with college I don't have much time to learn how to do it and then actually do it.
The car is a 2000 Camaro SS A4.
I'd be pretty reasonable with paying prices. I could even help with the job, considering it would be easier for me to just hang around while my car is out of commision, plus it would be good for me to learn how to do it.
If your interested in such a job, post here or PM me a price.

hey, i was wondering if you are capable of changing engine mounts? after i put my headers in, everytime i floor it, my passenger side collector hits the k-member. there is only about 1/8" of clearance between the two. shoot me a price and what would be good for you and we'll try and set something up...thanx
It says you do heads, cams, ect. Do you port, polish, install new vlave springs? I like to install most of they things I buy for my car, but I don't want to mess with heads/vlavetrain. E-mail me back at schultz-chad@sbcglobal.net, I might be needing you for a cam swap soon too.
How much would you charge to do my LT install? I've been putting it off for months cause I'm too dang lazy to do it. Plus I know it'll **** me off since I don't have all the right tools or a great place to make it easier. I'd be interested to have it done anytime within' the next month. It's for LT1 if it makes a difference. Oh also I have Jet Hot LT's but thinking of switching to Pacesetter cause I can get a Y-pipe included for the price I can sell the JHots alone to my buddy.
Re: anyone here need some work done to there cars?
I have 4 problems on my 83 Trans Am:
Windshield Wipers are constanly on. I had to disconnect the clip from the wiper motor itself.
Speedometer does not work. The upper speedo cable is good, and the trans was just rebuilt with a new speedo gear. It has to be the lower speedo cable or whatever it is that the lower connects to near the engine.
I have a power steering leak. Replaced the hard line but its still there.
I think I have a rear main leak.
Can you price out any or all of these????
Steve
