Anyone able to let me Rent LT1 edit?

See I need this software to dyno tune my car for my supercharger I just installed. The shop does not have a copy of Lt1 edit and I would have to buy the software. Not looking to spend that kind of cash right now if I don't have to. I would rather borrow and pay someone to use theirs for a day or so. I don't know much about the software so I'm not sure if I can even do this or not.

If anyone can help I would apprecieate it.

LT1edit is vin locked, nobody can just let you use theirs. My suggestion is buy Tunercat, its alot cheaper and IMO better. Plus your not giving your money to a bunch of money grubbing greed mongers like LT1edit. www.tunercat.com

What he said.

You will still need a cable tho (unless you can borrow one). I think akmcables.com has them.

I think you have that wrong Q .
If it wern't for LT1edit and its low cost we would still be forced into TTS MASTER TUNE and its $3700. cost!!!!!
I remember that very well when I wanted a copy and it only came as a non-vin locked software. Which is ok if your tunning cars daily but for us back yard tunners it was not worth it. Even a unrestricted copy of LT1 edit is under $600 so its a bargin. I have both and LT1 edit has way more to it than the tts stuff.
...and I like the windows format much better than the old dos format of mastertune.

LT1edit is locked in the software, LS1edit is locked in the cable so each LS1 car has its own specific cable. LT1 one cable works all no matter "who's" software you use.
so you can buy a powerprogramer from hypertech and do nill for $360 or spend less and do all..
...so its vin locked poney up a couple hundo more and get the full monty
get good at it and make the $$$$

LT1 edit aside, isn't Tunercat free for 30 days? ... and cheaper than edit if you wish to buy it.

I haven't had an lt1 car in a while so I'm just asking for curiosity sake.

you have one other option. you can find someone who has LT1 Edit and for about $50 you can buy the rights to use it with an additional VIN

It looks as though I will be buying myself a full copy of LT1 edit. I guess at least this way I can keep it for more mods or when I toast my engine from the charger

Thanks for everyone's replies!

TunerCat is still the better buy, not VIN locked and the newer Windows version is much better than it used to be. Plus it's cheaper. I have both Tunercat and LT1edit. If I had to buy just one it would be the TC.
