Anybody been to Lapeer Dragway this year?

Just wondering if it's still a s**t hole.
I'm thinking about the Sat test and tune to get some baseline #'s. The weather is suposed to very good for a summer day.
Milan's got the Pinks thing going this weekend, Ubly's not open, and Lapeer is close by, but if it's still a dump I'll wait a few weeks.

I was there last weekend. Still a ****hole. Nobody was hooking at all. I have a bolt on LT1 with a stock converter and my best 60 foot was a 2.20 on Nitto drags.
My car hooks better on the street, in the rain.

Why is Ubly closed? I was going to go there maybe next weekend.

What tires were you running there? I ran the same as you. 13.5 @ 105.

Gave it a try. Still dumpy, but I could've run as many passes as I wanted to. Not very many people there for test and tune day. Notables for Lt/Ls crowd were a silver Ls1 GTO running 12.40's an Lt1 TA running 13.50's
I went 12.30's at 118 with alot of traction issues,
1.95 was best 60ft. on 315 DR's
My stock '07 TBSS went 14.30's at 97, with the traction control on or off.
I was hoping for better, but it's 1st time out so there's lots of room for driver improvement.

Bring slicks to this track or don't bother going. I actually put a post on their website about the traction issue and they deleted it.
I was being very nice too. I was not attacking the track at all. They could have at least emailed me and said "We do zero track prep for test and tune, because the $20 in VHT might break the bank. After all we are hoping to save enough pennies to have a board at the end of the track by the year 2035..."

On a positive note, the track is pretty empty and you can get as many runs as you want. But remember, there is a reason that the CLOSEST track to metro Detroit is empty.

lapeer dragway is better than nothing
sometimes you just have to make due with what you got.

I would bet money that most people leave Lapeer in a bad mood.

actually its been the complete opposite for me, i usually leave every other track in a bad mood. Lapeer is the only one youll ever get any good practice at because you dont have to sit in the stages for a half hour each time.

somethings are worth waiting for!!! I quit going to lapeer about 5 years ago. Mid Michigan and Milan are the only tracks I will go to now! about 2 1/2 years ago me and a buddy of mine wanted to go to the track, but he could only make it to Lapeer, so i decided to go with him to give it a shot. after almost wrecking my car twice, I decided once again that I will never come back to Ed's S#!t hole again. not only is the track prep bad, the entire track is bad. the dips at the start line. and the bumps all the way down the track. its pretty bad when my car lost 2 tenths off my 60' when I went to Lapeer or as I like to call it now "CRAPEER"

ok Im done bitching now!
