Post Any Winter Beaters for Sale?

I maybe looking for another beater soon.

Per my other posts, my gear broke in my Z, and I'm not sure what we're going to do yet. We just started to get back on track with our bills and what not from moving up to Grand Rapids - so money is tight right now.

Our Options are:
  • We can either fix the car, and hope winther isn't that bad, and drive the Z all year.
  • Fix the car, and also get a beater
  • Park the car until next year, and buy a beater now.

If I can find a cheap car now, I might also have enough to fix the Camaro as well. Since this car will be for my g.f, I will be looking for what she wants:

Either AWD, 4x4, or FWD NO REAR WHEEL DRIVE WITHOUT 4x4
Will need no work done to it.
Heater must work
CD player
+/- Around $1,000 (hopefully less)
MUST BE AN AUTO

I don't care what kind of car it is. I would like the rust not to be too bad for her. Please note, I am not looking and nothing is serious right now. We are not sure what we are going to do as of yet. We are just throwing ideas around.

Thank you.

Dude good luck finding anything dependable that needs no work for $1000. Most good running cars are worth $1500 at least, unless you can find a good running Geo Metro or something.
Sorry to sound negative, but theres not really a lot of deals out there unless you know someone or have connections.

I have a 88' Chrysler LeBaron Convertiable for sale for $900. Trans was slipping but I replaced the filter and put new fluid in it and it seems fine now. It's a 2.2 Turbo, automatic, FWD (of course), the body is in awesome shape, no rust actually, but the paint is ****ed. Has newer Firehawk tires. Interior is nice in good shape, power everything, windows, locks, top, heated mirror.
I'm gonna try driving it again until the plate expires, if the trans is good then $900.

Dude, fix the car like we were talking about today. Then save your pennies. I go to a auction in early December, where you can get a good running decent car for 500 bucks and a very nice ride for the ball and chain for 1000 to 1500 bucks. Trust me on this one, I buy two or three every year and resell them

Anytime you want Chris, give me a yell. you and the family are always welcome. It is a quarterly auction, done every 3 months. ALL KINDS OF STUFF, not just cars. But I usually go for the cars and trucks. Last year I brought home a 90 SHO 5 speed with leather in great shape for 500 bucks, and a 86 suburban 2WD for 550.00. I sold the SHO for 1500.00 2 days later, and the suburban for 1000.00 and all I did was drive it home. I didnt even wash it Probably a good idea to come the night before as the auction usually starts around 7am. I will see if I can get my buddies golf cart for us to use if you decide to come, cuz it usually goes till around 5pm, and it is all outside. So dress warm, and bring some schanpes
