Any local car-audio gurus want to make a few bucks?

Im having some very strange problems with my '90 Firebird Formula.

When i bought it the car had some junk Koss deck in it, so I spliced a set of factory connectors back in and installed the Alpine that was in my Camaro. Everything worked fine until I turned on the ehadlights-the deck would turn off completely with the lights on. I pulled the deck out and discovered that I had crossed the black and brown wires. I fixed that, and plugged the harness back into the deck. Now the deck wont power up at all.

Just trying to narrow down the list of possible problems, I plugged in a stock am/fm/cassette deck. It will play tapes just fine, but when its on the tuner, theres only static from all 4 speakers.

On that note-the car has a power antenna that was a little screwy to begin with. Sometimes the motor would just keep spinning without moving the mast, so I cut the green natenna wire in the footwell to stop the motor. I had done that when the old deck was in the car, and the Alpine was also working with the wire cut. Could that have ANYTHING to do with why the stock deck will only play tapes?

Does it sound like I fired the Alpine when I had it wired wrong?

And if any of you local guys are good with car stereos, I would gladly pay someone to have a look at this thing before I take it to Best Buy or something.
