by the way, anyone know what slps plans are for woodward? do you guys have a lot yet?

You guys are all pretty cool. Nothing against 3rd gens or other f-bodies...it's just when SLP started the club Dave,Danee, and others wanted to have an exclusive 4th gen club. So that's why the stuck by those standards. Whould you join a exclusive Ford mustang club if you owned a GM F-body? I'm a member of SLP and also MM. Two cool clubs with different goals in mind. Everyone pretty much gets along fine..sure there is tension between some, but that's life.
As far as a Woodward lot goes, I think Danee has something he's working on. It's a spot close to 11 mile like last time, but we are trying to find something better that is reasonable around 13 mile that won't cost an arm and a leg to rent out.
More info when I get it.
danee and daren you guys have pm's
I have to agree with eric on that one daren as a mustang is a mustang and you cerainly wouldn't care to join with a gm but i do agree with the general point your trying to make. however most mustang clubs recieve all mustangs especially if they are in nice condition. And just like robvas said, a club is a club and for whatever reason the club came about is what it should be. 4thgens are a very common and popular make so to make a club consist of strictly 4thgens seems like a natural thing for someone to do and makes it alot easier to recruit people if your going to single out other generations. for instance a 2nd gen club would be alot harder don't you think?
as far as slp goes, i know that i don't have a problem with anyone in slp and while i don't speak for eric i'm sure he doesn't either; more chances then not were all hanging out at the same events anyhow. however, because it is an exclusive 4thgen club, it's more or less a chance for guys like us that have thirdgens to poke at them now and then. no harm done.
As far as thirdgens go, honestly there aren't as many nice thirdgens as 4thgens out there and the ones you see certainly aren't modified to any real extent and the stock ones are very rarely clean. so you can see putting together a thirdgen only club isn't as easy. Most thirdgen owners aren't into this sort of deal so while it's a nice idea, it isn't very practical. Now if only erics club would let thirdgens in that aren't white then we might have somewhere to go. Eric i told you i'm not going to paint my car white just to hang out with you.

I wasn't allow to bring my Trans Am to the Camaro Superfest last year and park it with everyone.
Like I said, the main people of the club made a decision before to have a 4th gen club only. I don't make the rules. I tried to ask why not accept all camaro's and Firebirds, but it was voted down. That's why I belong to both clubs... Motown Muscle I can race and belong with other makes and with SLP I can cruise around with just 4th gens.
It would be cool to have all firebirds,Trans Ams,but then why not Buicks, GTp's, sunbirds, ect.....it will never end. Someone will always feel left out or complain.
Besides.... whenever we are at a show or event all of us hang together no matter what car we drive.

Timberwolf, that was 3rdgen.org and they let anyone in. Not really a club, just a website to shoot the **** on. Kinda like offtopic.net.
Yeah, club is a club I guess. I got nothing against it.

It seems to me last summer we had about 15 3rd gens down at the park Off of Woodward. Today on Gratiot I saw some sweet 3rd gens. I didn't know any of these guys. There were about 10 really nice ones I saw that I didn't know the people. I don't see why there can't be a 3rd gen club. I would rather it be open to all f/body 1st thru 4 th gens. I would think it would not be that hard to start a club open to all F/Bodys. I am sure you would get alot of people willing to come to events like.
I would be willing to help start a club like this.
If I were involved I would want the member to vote on the rules. Not just have one or 2 people telling everyone this is how it is. Everyone should have a say so and then the club vote on it as a hole. You could set up track days, cruises and shows. Take drives in the country and just make it a more rounded club. Some clubs have more bar nights than anything else while I know several people who don't drink.
I know some of the nice guys at SLP but I to did not join because of the 4th gen only rule. I have a 3rd gen and a 4th gen. I am a member of MM but I would be interested in a club that does some other things. I would still be a member of MM as there are some nice people there also. I would just like to see some other things beside track day , shows and drinking. Just my .02

So Street Lethal is all 4th gens. Big deal. Like somebody said, if you want an all Camaro club, or an all 3rd gen, 2nd gen, 1st gen club... then start one?
Nobody has anything against 3rd gens, it's just not what the club is about. If there was an all 3rd gen club, I can't really see myself geting upset about it. I would probably think to myself... "Hmm... I bet all of those guys have 3rd gens, and they started a club in an effort to bring together members with similar cars and interests as theirs. Yeah, I get it!"
I'm a member of both SLP and MM. When I started become more interested in going faster and modding my car for performance, I looked to MM. When I'm thinking about appearance mods, cruises, and hanging out, it's SLP. There's clubs out there for all interests, you just find the ones you like and fit in.
