Any beginner or mid level guitarists?
Any beginner or mid level guitarists?
I have a Fender Standard Stratocaster Mexico guitar for sale.
This is the classic black with maple neck and white pickguard.
I am the original owner and it's 3 years or so old, not a mark on it.
I'll take $200. or best offer with the nice gig bag and local meet up delivery.
C'mon guys, help a brother out. All proceeds will go to my new Gibson Les
Paul Standard purchase, so it is a very good cause!!!

If you let that guitar go to get a Les Paul, you'll likely regret it. Les Paul's are incredible, but they tend to have a much more fat, mellow tone that's almost boring at times. They can't even begin to approximate the jangly, sometimes biting tones of a Strat. When I started playing ten years ago, I traded my first Mexican Strat on a Les Paul Custom. It was and still is a gorgeous guitar, but two months later I began to unbearably miss the classic Fender sound. Now, with multiple Gibsons and Custom Shop Fenders, I'm completely satisfied (and it's time to work on the Camaro collection instead)
. The basic point I'm trying to make here is that no guitar arsenal is complete without a Les Paul AND a Strat...at the very least. Besides, in light of several thousands for a Les Paul, what does $200 for a Strat you're going to miss later really do for you anyhow? At any rate, don't take me too seriously here--I'm just speaking from experience (and I've played in countless bands, done some for hire studio work and have been playing for a long time)...think of all the classic guitar tones you'll never be able to get with a Gibson alone?
On another note, if anyone's interested in getting started on an electric guitar, jump on this deal! The mexican strat's are very nice-sounding, well-made guitars for a price.
Guitars and Camaros go quite well together!

Too late. The Strat is gone and I have a beautiful new AAA top Les Paul Standard in heritage cherry sunburst. The Strat was a toy. I am 42 years old
and have been playing since I was 13. I knew what I was getting when I bought the Strat, and the Paul. I've owned 6 or 8 Strats over the years,
although this was the first non American made version and frankly, it wasn't
half the guitar my last one was. That was a candy apple red Texas Roadhouse. The difference of course was about $700. I play a lot of metal
and Led Zep and the such so the Les Paul and my Marshall are really all I need
to be happy. Well, maybe a crybaby pedal also. Anyway, I got a smokin' deal on the Paul, $1900. out the door. Even got the factory box for future sale
purposes, although I think this one might stay around for a long while!
This is my third Les Paul, and I the nicest top yet.
