Thumbs down To all who seen Redbirds last outing at Jasons race in 2003...

... I think I went 6 rounds or to the quarter finals before redbeaming with a .499... Redbird was makin' passes on borrowed time. When I went to remove the ring gear carrier I
decided to scrape the bottom of the housing. BINGO... found chunks of teeth.
Rotated the carrier to find at least two teeth with missing parts of them.

I guess this is to be expected with a mid 1.4X 60' footing car and a 7 5/8" rearend, 4200 stall converter and a 150 shot of J.

I'll probably go back to a 3.73 gear (more load bearing teeth)... however I do still have the 4.56 in a box somewhere.

Hi Chris:

Yeah... I have lost alot of interest since my divorce. I very rarely even look on the boards... just no interest anymore.

All I have to do for streetability is remove the welded carrier which by the way worked fantastic, thanks! Another poormans trick was to remove all the fluid from the front shocks. This produced instant front end lift but also caused the car to bounce the front end. For an eleven second car it was okay. For anything faster it probably isn't a good idea. So just have to put the stock front struts on, put stock seats in... just piddly stuff like that.

Looks like next year now... I'm in no hurry... wanna save up some money anyhow.

Hey, it looks like you have something pretty mean in your garage.

Yep... it was the little 10 bolt that thought it was a 12 bolt. I had amazing luck with that thing for the abuse it took.

Not making it to the dream cruise in fact I have never been to one. Been to St. Ignace once and that was cool. If and when I come, it will be with my truck.

Hmmm... Hink has always been rough on the rears. I think I still have some of that wheels up action around here somewhere from that event.
