4.10 rear for sale
Hey guys, I bought this rear end from Greg (clokwrk) a little less than a month ago, and installed it in my daily driver. Its a great rear end, super solid. It came out of a 99, went in my 99, and now I'm taking it out. It has new bearings and seals throughout, and a zexel posi. Here's the best part: the gears aren't GM / motive gears. Theyre made by Strange, and are supposed to be much stronger than regular GM gears. The rear end does whine a little bit on the expressway, but isn't intrusive. They're too much for me to drive every day, I'm going back to 3.42's or maybe 3.73's. I never made any track passes, but its just too much. I just want my money back on this, I paid $400 so thats what I want. I could even help you put it in. It's complete, minus backing plates, and if you aren't comfortable with removing yours, I can help with that too.
However... if you have an LS1 F-body and you have 3.42's or 3.73s, MUST have a Zexel posi and be in good condition, I'm asking for a partial trade. Complete, for a swap. Won't have to mess with plates or anything. PM me if you're interested.

Yes, it would bolt in. To be honest with you though I do think its too much for an automatic. City driving you would be fine, but be aware going from 3.23's to 4.10's you would pick up almost 500 rpm at 70. I don't think thats a huge deal, but depending on your exhaust, going from 2100 to 2600 rpm would be a big differnce volume wise. If you are looking at doing gears, send a message to 1BAD86Z. He's the best rear end guy I know, he built this rear end, and several for my friends and many other people on this board. His name is Scott, hes in Roseville and he knows his stuff. Real cool guy, if you want his # pm me.

Swapping rear ends really isnt difficult, I've done it so many times with my various F-bodies, and in friends cars. I'm more than happy to help you swap rears, I'd even take your stock rear for partial trade if its in good condition. I have the tools, the garage and the driveway space required, if you're interested we could have the rears switched in a day.
Devenomer- I'm sorry I haven't been in touch with you man, I've been so busy with work and all, I just havent had the time or the money. If you have an opportunity to sell them jump at it, if you still have them in a month or so I'm still interested
Mavricki- Like I said, I'm happy to help. You will need: 2 quarts of mobil 1 synthetic, and a rear diff gasket. You will also need new sway bar end links because I guarantee your stockers will break. You can get new ones at autozone or advance or something like that for under $15 bucks. Let me know if you're interested
Bond - Scotts last name is Koresky, he lives on Waldorf near 10 mile and 94.

It would bolt in to a pre-98, but you MUST use your stock backing plates in order for your brakes to work. Like I said, I'm willing to assist if anyone is interested. Ask Scott, I'm a pro at switching rears.
