Q,

That 3Dmark2001 is a computer program that taxes your computer in graphic and memory intesive programs to see how fast it performs. My little P4 1.4Ghz with 256MB RAM got just shy of 9000 marks.

On a side note we just figured out how much we owe the gov't in taxes, so I should be ordering my new computer parts within a couple weeks and those should get me close to 15,000

On another side note, I brought the 6AL with me to give to Chris at the LAN party so he can get it to you.

Cool. Did anyone decide when and where we are all meeting yet? I kinda need to know by 3:30 when I leave work.

Q, if you want to try it out on your system, go to www.futuremark.com and download 3dmark2001SE
And if you or anyone else want the registration code so you can play the game, add the extra tests, and basiclaly be upgraded to a pro version, give me a holler

I'm catching up with you slowly Dave... 11,338 3dmarks and I think I can get more out of this system...

I'm up about 800 points from my previous score with some bios tweaking on the mainboard and on the vid card, and some new drivers.
This is with no overclocking of the CPU or RAM... Generic 768mb of pc2100, only an xp2000+ with OEM cooling too...

Can't wait for the twinmos DDR400 to come in, as well as the install on the new motherboard to take advantage of it (nforce2 chipset) and some serious overclocking...

Chad (or anyone else with a Radeon 9500 or newer), if you read this, you need the warpbios upgrade My 9500Pro is now showing up as a 9800 in all the hardware profiles... It's a 5 minute procedure and is all done through software (meaning $0 upgrade)

Mike,

You might want to think about getting DDR333 memory instead depending on you motherboard configuration. The mobo that I am going to get in all the reviews it performed better with 2 sticks of 333 memory than it did with 2 sticks of 400 memory because everything was then in sync.

Where do I find the warpbios upgrade from? I think I read about that on overclockers.com.

Heh, we are using a nearly identical motherboard... I have the Biostar M7VIT... The rest of the sytem is very similar too!

Chad, I thought about that, but ended up with the Twinmos DDR400 because it seems to test really well with that motherboard I showed you. I plan on pushing to a 200FSB or maybe a hair more even, so it should work pretty good. Plus the board uses the DualDDR technology and with the nforce2 I think it will be nice and quick still

If you want to do the bios mod I will send you the files. You'll need to create a startup disk so you can boot to a dos prompt. Then these files I send you need to be put on a seperate floppy disk.

It's like 2 different commands and you're golden. You may want to have your install CD handy from the vid card. I had to reload the drivers after the update. Or, you can get one of the hotrod drivers out there... I use the omega soft mod drivers which I can send you as well if you want
