350 chevy vs Opti vs LT1 computer system

Ok, all I need to know is, is it possible to run the LT1 harness and computer on a Gen 1 SBC and use a regular distributor.... or would you HAVE to use a DFI system or something. Dont say it wont work with heads and intake as this will be a very custom setup.

Thanks,

Joel

I dont see why not, theres guys on here that run LT1's with regular distributors in modified manifolds, but I also think they still use optis so the internal sensors can be used as reference for fuel.

Yea Im talking using a gen 1 block, with no opti and a dist but still using the computer from the lt1 to run the system, I dont think its possible, i believe the only way to do it would be to use a DFI

Re: 350 chevy vs Opti vs LT1 computer system

you need a modifed LT1 intake for use with a rear mounted Distributor, the computer system and harness from a truck (reasearch which one first) and then do the swap!!!

look for a 2 wheel drive truck, less harness to worry about...

pcm
harness
front timing cover with cam sync sensor(from a 96+ LT1)
intake!!!

done!!!!

i'm selling an intake modified for this exact purpose, let me know if you want it!!!!

i'll ask my ECm guy ... find out what you need exactly!!
