Ok, first off, I'm a dumbass.
1st ticket
back in june I got a ticket for 60/45 over on m-59 and van dyke.
In the charges area he wrote: Violation Basic Speed.
My friend and I were going down hall road and he had just got the car out of the shop, he was gunning it from lights and testing his tune out ect. Well from one light we both kinda took off, except I let off, and he kept going. Now he is in the right lane about 3-4 car lengths ahead of me. As we are slowing down, I see a cop pull out, and immediately my brakes go on. I slowed down to about 50mph and my friend continued. We stayed at that for about 3 blocks. The cop starts to pace my friend, staying behind both of us. We then get onto m-59 and he speeds up behind my friend and puts the lights on, at that time I got behind him, and he slowed down quite fast and pointed me over, figuring he got my plate, and being somewhat honest, I just pulled over. So he has us both pulled over and he writes us both the same ticket, yet my friend was going faster...ugh...He questioned both of us and seemed to be pretty cool about it, he then asked us both if we were drag racing 'No' was my reply obviously. He goes to his car and comes back to me and says 'Don't drag race through my streets anymore, or you're going to jail' I was like WTF? totally didnt happen. So now I am going to court for this, woundering what to say?! I was planning on explaining the situation and asking for a ticket i deserved 50/45 and call it quits, what do you guys think?

Second ticket
on july 5th i was down on gratiot cruising. It was fun and a lot of ppl were out. Well I just so happened to get gas. I pull out thinking I had put my lights on and only had my fogs on. Well the street is pretty lit up and I am following a cop and all is cool. I follow him for about a mile and was going to turn off, he then slowed down and got behind me. Lights on, and they harassed the **** out of me about my car. Asses. Anyhoo, he wrote me up for driving w/o headlights, i definitly wouldn't mind paying the ticket, but it's 2 ****ing points! So I am goign to court for that, I have no clue what to say about that one.

Third ticket.
Coming home from work, in a rush to get to school for a final, roll through a stop sign 5mph, camaro cop in troy pulls me over. I knew I was f'd so I just pulled over and handed him my ****.

Some stats:
1st ticket: Utica
2nd ticket: Roseville
3rd ticket: Troy

First court date is in sept for the 3rd ticket, I have no points and a good record, so I am going to ask for leinency or just ask for a non-moving violation, pay the fine, yadda yadda. Or perhaps ask to be put on probation for 6mo.

Second court date is for the headlights, I'm hoping he doesn't show for this one since roseville hands out millions of tickets per year, and this is a fairly bunk ticket. If he shows, I will just ask for probation, or no points.

Third court date is for the speeding. I have a court clerk that is a friend and said she would speak with the officer, I am goign to ask for 50/45 and take what I can get.

Any ideas?

sorry to hear about the bad luck man,
but the only thing that I could think of was for the second ticket w/o headlights. If you did have your fog lights on I think you have a case. I not positive but I think the law is that you only have to have some sort of light projecting from the car foward. I could be wrong but it might be worth looking into.

No offense but yes it's usually the little dumb errors in driving that gets people a "BS" ticket. I try to get in the habit of fully stopping at signs, out of driveways, etc and doing the speed limit in hot areas. I know a lot of people who should do the same. Just review themselves and save themselves the hassle and money of a ticket.
