Jason and his crew have to run both the gate and tech inspection. There isn't a whole lot of track staff around in the morning. I think it keeps the cost down!
The hell we do. Just be there and see. There will be somebody there from the track doing tech inspection, running the scales, and pumping fuel.
See you there.

I guess I should have said it isn't fully staffed by track personnel. It will be fully staffed, but most of the staff will be Jason and his helpers, not track employees.

Maybe you could share with the rest of us where you are getting this information from.

I'm also surprised it's not closer to US-131 MSP.
I think that's the Speedway on the corner of W. MI and Drake, right?
The Citgo station on D Avenue right off US-131 sells Torco, but I believe that's leaded. Sign by the pump says "for off-road use only" and if you start putting it right into your car (the nozzle fits) someone comes out and tells you that you can't do that.
Like anybody in their right mind would put leaded fuel into a car that couldn't handle it (ie that didn't have the O2 sensors bypassed, etc.) Maybe some ricers foolishly tried it?

Gate Crew = Jason & crew
Tech Inspection = Jason & crew
Hell, I think for one of them there was even someone in the booth handing out time slips that was not a track employee but an event "helper" from this site.
Maybe this year is different though???
I doubt it though. Jason has already said it will be a down and dirty event. Track staff costs money. The track WILL be properly prepped, though. It always is.
The Sunoco station in Remus(on 66 about a half hour north of Stanton, if that) used to sell 104 octane. I haven't been by there in a while so I dunno if they still do. When I drove back and forth to Mt. Pleasant twice a week I'd always wait to stop there for a fill up. They offer from 86 to 94 octane on the regular pumps and Remus gas stations especially the Sunoco are always a little more reasonable. I found that the Z really really loved the 94 and I was getting it for around the same price as 92 or 93 where I live.

Update:
The Sunoco at Grandriver & Middlebelt switched back to Sunoco GT PLUS... 104 octane unleaded. This is the "only" station in then state with this blend!.
$4.25 a gallon as of 10-19-03.
It is a deadicated pump/tank that never gets swaped to other fuels in the winter months, other than the swap they did last year from 104 unleaded to 100 unleaded back to 104 unleaded mid summer 2003.
They are open 24/7, 365days a year.
