@#$%ing A-drive!!!
@#$%ing A-drive!!!
This thing is driving me nuts. My boss recently got a new computer for home, so he brought his existing home computer here to the lot and set it up. I was trying to put some of the documents and files on floppies, and at first I had no problems. Then anytime I tried to access the floppy drive the screen would blank out and then go to a monitor message that said "invalid scan frequency"... So after some work and some calls to my Dad the Computer Guru we determined that the floppy drive was bad. So I went to Circuit City and bought a new one which I then installed yesterday afternoon. We put in a diskette and it read it fine. So I assumed the problem had been repaired.
Well today I'm copying the same files, and for a while it was fine. Some guy came from GR and installed a file that was necessary to get our deal-printing program to work right. Then I was copying more files and it started giving me blue screen messages about not being able to write to the disk. Then it started doing the invalid scan frequency thing again. I called my Dad and he couldn't believe it. But he said there's nothing more he can do remotely, he'll have to make a house call.
This is about making me want to rip my hair out. Anybody ever had this kind of thing happen before? Could the floppy drive be overheating and malfunctioning because of that? It's a brand new floppy, why should it be having the same problem?!
One way or another I'll get those files copied, but I thought I had fixed the problem so I'm discouraged about it.

That almost sounds more like a video setting problem. When you get a message saying invalid scan frequency does it specifically mention the A drive?
EDIT: I did a quick google search and it seems to confirm to me that it's a video driver problem...
