update on Project SR355
well I spent most of the weekend putting the motor together.
I have been running into many little problems but so far its comming together. First I put the old LT4 ED timing set on the motor and I just didnt like the amout of slop that was in the chain. It doesnt have many mile on the timing set but its was used from the old motor so I ordered a Cloyes double roller. Put that on Saturday morning. I degreed the cam and it is supposed to be installed at 108ICL. actual came in at 107. I'm leaving it there. I decided its not worth the hastle of trying to move it with offset bushings.
I had to clearance the timing cover a bit for the new chain... put the oil pump and pan on. Today I checked piston to valve clearance and came up with .120" intake and .200"+ on the exhaust. This was really good news for me because I was really worried about this with close to .700" lift. But all is ok.
Got the heads on tonight and it looks great. But I noticed that the front oil drain hole is blocked by the head gasket and casting on the block. I will have to pull the head again to clearance the block. I'll start working on that this week.
Hopefully I'll have itback in the car in the next 3-4 weekends or so.
heres a pic of the progress:

John, I'll get them from you someday... I dont need them today or anything. They will probably be one of the last things to go on. I dont plan on installing any fuel rails till the motor is in the car anyway.
