transmission trouble!!!!!!!
remember i told you guys in the GM high tech thread that i was having trouble with my transmission??!!
well to make a lllloooooonnnnnnggggggg story short the car has been at auerbach chevy since monday morning and will probably sit there until friday or next week
. the techs told me they found metal clips in my transmisson dip stick tube and the trans pan, so the trans will have to be rebuilt or they will replace it with a new one. there still waiting word from GM about what to do!
i'm pissed off that it took two visit's to find the problem!!!!!!
i'm going to write to GM to complain about there dealership's
it's in my opinon that when you go to the dealer with a problem that your guaranted to visit a second time...second off if your car is under warranty that try to push it out the door because they don't make any money off it!
sorry about the rant guys...please pray for the MEAN MEAN BLACK MACHINE!

E, all I can say is that is what the cars come with a warranty for. The front pump is pretty easy to diagnose and I find it hard to understand that the dealer couldnt figure that out the first time it was there. They must have put a newbie on the job because the pump is one of the weak points in the 4L60E. A quick check of the line pressure would have told them there was something wrong with the pump. When it starts leaking its too late.. the trans will need to be rebuilt. What dealer was this? There are a few in the area that I would trust, and a few that I wouldnt send my worst enemy too. Barlow is one of them, I hate those bastards and will never go to them for anything. They are famous for their quality tech and excelent customer service
Mall and Classic are good, I know techs that work at both.
My brother just took his Saturn in for a water leak at the door, they fixed it and did a complimentry 40 gagilian point check...
during their checks they broke the sun roof and called him to say it would be $780 for a new one.
Makes you wonder sometime doesnt it?

Auerbach?! Is that the one out on 73 way past Marlton? They are a high volume dealer... most high volume dealers are not as good with the customer service. And why the hell do you take it all the way out there? Just take it to Mall or Classic... BEWARE OF BARLOW!!!!! I can understand the frustration of them not fixing it the first time... even with obvious symptoms of a bad front pump, but just remember they are people too. Everyone does make mistakes bro. I only say this cause I too am in the service buisness. I have made my share of mistakes too. If theres one thing I have learned over the years... its do not get loud and scream. That only pisses people off and makes them want to make it harder for you. Make them know you are not happy with the service and be sure to stand your ground. But do it nicely and never raise your voice. It goes a looooong way with the management! If they value you as a customer they will make it up to you. If they dont... then you have the ultimate wepon, your buisness!!! Dont belive everything you hear about them not making money off of waranty work. They actually make more money off of it in the right situation. Had they found the pump bad the first time they aould have made a killing! But chances are that warranty will not pay for the first visit and it will only cover the second one + the cost of the rebuild. They will eat the first one. If their customer service skills are up to par, they will make it right. If not, you go somewhere else (like Mall or Classic
) and file a complaint with the GM rep for that dealer.
On a side note I just had a similar problem with sears. My fride is broken and its under warranty so I called for service. to make a long story short I made the appointment 3 weeks in advance and took a day off from work, guess what? THEY NEVER SHOWED UP!! I was furious, but I played my card and went thru the chains. After speaking with the senior manager of "National Public Relations" I finally got my way. They are comming out at MY convienience and going to fix it when I say so!
Good luck bro.
