island is where we hold our annual gathering, the east coast nats. they have the nicest people of any track around. facility is smaller than the other jersey tracks and a bit more out of the way too, which is sort of nice.

I have rented Atco out before. It worked out to be about $125 a car. I can not complain one bit about it. Just that is was frickin hot that day thats about it. I did way more then 32 passes that day. Sometimes I was making 4 runs in 15 mins. I was actualy thinking about doing it again this year. i rented it on a friday so when we were done I went and ran street races that night. i was already in so I did not have to pay for that. Let me know if you do it at atco, I would go there. John

We had a couple cars that were not really up to par. The only person that day watching us was the ambulance driver, she was also running the tree for us. We had some guy from Buckingham with a vette convertable running 11.60's all day with no cage. No one said a thing to him. The speed shop is open all day when you rent the track as well. So nos refills are not a problem. I went through 2 or 3 tanks that day. John

Just got an email from the guy at maple grove in PA...its only bout 2 hrs away from me..what track do you guys want atco or maple grove??

"we do track rentals to car clubs for $200 per car. thats a turnkey deal and includes insurance, certified ambulance with PA state certified EMTs and track prep. the sessions run from 10:00 am to 4:00pm. minimum car counts for that pricing would be 12 cars and must be street type cars..................check with the rest of the group and let us know everyone's feelings and we'll proceed with the plans from there. Thanks again for the inquiry."

I would talk to someone at ATCO. I recall we had 15 cars at $125 each. No restrictions of how fast. There was a very fast 55 Chevy and a dragster mixed with "street" cars. We had the track all day and were not "bothered" by any track officials. IMO Maple's street type cars can't go faster than 11.50 and might be requried to have full exhaust. I live 25 minutes from the Grove but would rather run at ATCO. My car would not have a problem with George Case's rules so Maple would be ok as my second pick.
