What do real estate prices look like there w/ respect to national market? My wife and I plan to retire in State College. Of course that's not for another 25+ years.

 

we are seeing about a 6-8% appreciation yearly. The good news is being a huge University town we are very much insulated from the effects we are seeing in the HOT spot areas like south FL, NY, DC out west. Those markets are correcting themselves now and are flat. We see good and consistant growth in a town located in the middle of know were. I have 5 rental properties in State College area and buying more as a young investor. We also have one of the best public schools in the country so with PSU and no crime it realy is a town on the up and up in the North east. 25 years I will still be here hopefully and 52 years old

 

That is all good news. You don't have to tell me how great State College is. My wife and I are both PSU grads.

And i have spent many of weekends in state college.. My sis is a grad from there, and ive had a few friends that has gone there...
