Please help - cant find a good LT1 performance mechanic
I have a 94 Z28 LT1 with 74K. For the past 2 years I have been completely unable to enjoy it AT ALL. I have spent over $6,000 on this car in performance modz and maintenance and it STILL runs like crap. My mechanic just keeps telling me to throw money at it... $100 here, $200 there... with storage fees, monthly payments, insurance and these BS mechanical bills I dont know where to turn and my car is literally running me into the poor house... (and it still doesnt run correctly)
I CANT FIND A MECHANIC or PERFORMANCE specialist that knows what the hec he is doing. My car is sitting, again. It needs a new opti and Id really like to have it finally run correctly... (and not completely break my azz paying for it) Im no ASE certified mechanic but really wish I could find someone that knows what the hell their doing with Z28 Camaro LT1s in the suburban Philadelphia, PA area!?!?
Can anyone please give me some referrals?
THANKS VERY MUCH for any help!

best suggestion is to learn to do stuff on your own. most mechanics know little/nothing about performance anyway. and as far as being ASE certified, i learned a long time ago to not give that much credit either. a friend of mine got me a copy of the general mechanics test adn i passed. i was a business major in college and never even took a vo-tech class and i passed the damn test. if you liek to see the things on the wall, look for the word "master" and the specialty listed on the ase cert. that measn that the mechanic actually had to study something to pass teh test.

Second Street Speed in Perkasie. They built Baxter's, Injuneer's and John McMullen's car. I had mine out there in February with a number of gremlins and they fixed 'em all. Very nice to work with and very reasonability priced.
