Welcome to the boards!!! Im from Pittsburgh, PA area. I live in Washington, PA....which is 22miles south of pittsburgh. My gf lives by South Hills Village Mall...so Im always up in that area also. However, my car is down for a major rebuild....so It wont be up and running till probably middle of summer. We have local Fbody meets occasionally up here(the 7 of us that there are, lol). Ricers rule the roads in my area(in numbers, NOT speed). Later!

Humm, good question since I hardly know, lol. a few summers ago when my car did run good i was about the only person with an fbody so none of us really hung out. Then, last summer I was chasing detonation and fuel problems so I never really got the car running till mid-late summer. Then, after about 3 weeks of nonstop nitrous abuse, I spun the number 1 rod bearing(it was totally chewed up and the bottom part was not even on the rod anymore. So its basically been off the road for the last 2 summers. Since then, nearly all of my friends have gotten them(no kidding).

Two got LT1s(one 96 Z28, with NOS 150shot (stock bottom end ), all the bolt ons, shorty headers). The other is a 94Z28 stock with just bolt ons, full exhaust, 1.6 arms....the slowest of the crew but still mid-low 13s). Then there are 5 LS1s(00 SS, 01 WS6, 98 Z28, 02 WS6 and another 02 WS6vert). The 00 SS has all the bolt ons(lid, differnt MAF, 3.73 gears, borla, and afew other small things...except NO headers) and runs a 100shot NX kit on stock bottom end. The 1st 01 WS6 is stock almost stock(it has a lid) and the kid is going broke affording it...so he might not have it for long, lol. The 98 Z28 has allthe bolt ons and is now a fake SS(borla, lid, SS ram air hood/setup, and a few other things). The other two 02 WS6 cars are nearly stock. One is white ttop(duh)with a few bolt ons(borla, lid, eibach pro kit). The other is a dark gunmetal color(I think he had it painted) vert. The kid with the vert paid nearly $40k for that car. He has not even put a lid on it yet, lol. I think he is going into the poor house with it. Also those last two WS6 cars hardly ever hang out with us anyhow, but will make an apperance or two over the summer. There is also a 02 Z06 that hangs out with us(owned by a 20 yr old kid, has some money to say the least). its got headers and some weird name exhaust. Then, there my car. Im proud to say it will be by far the best of this group when its back together. Its undergoing a Procharged F1, 383ci Stroked and Nitrous injected rebuild. But, like I said, it probably wont be up till mid/late summer. However, the ZO6 is hands down the nicest of all to ride in.

Anyhow, thats our little crew when we all come out. I also heard some kid up the street apparently got a 97 SS but I have yet to see it or talk to him. Ill find out this weekend. Our hangouts would change from place to place. I got bored and stopped going(even when the car was running right, lol) cause all they did was stand around and BS for hours. I would rather drink beer or something than do that all night. But its fun if your race or have an actual plan.

N2opoweredTA,

we should all get togother in the summer time. i live in the burgh, but i have a buddy that lives in waynesburgh, witch i think is close to you? my car is a 2000Z28 with flowtech LT's,3200stall, LM catback, air lid, i am now saving up for a nice lumpy cam...40g's for a vertible? he got raped..i paid 15,000 for my t-top Z...the LT's are not on the car yet..hoping someone could help me out with that one? looks like you guy's are big nitrous fans :)
well let me know if you guy's ever want to meet up somewhere..i would rather race than b.s. and bench race...

I like Nitrous, Forced Induction and Strokers

Waynesburg is a little ways from me, but not too far.

He bought the vert from a place called All Pro AutoMall for a hair over $39k. It has since closed down and went out of business(probably very few brought from them, everything was expensive on their lots). He got it brand new, with only 9 test drive miles on it. Was a stupid purchase, IMO....no fbody is worth that much.

Like I said, I think my car will be down the most of the summer. Im trying my best to hurry the process along to have it on the road for at least the last few good months of this years summer/fall season. I always keep an eye on the boards and will post an update or something when Im ready to roll.

FWIW, we were having biweekly gatherings at Mingo County Park in Washington, PA. And occasional trips to the South Park area and sometimes go to Quaker Steak and Lube for car shows.
