I think they are legal in every state actually! These are the ones that I'm most likely gonn get due to the fact that are legal.

As long as you retain the emissions hookups and cat in the stock location. It's the longtube headers that aren't legal because they would relocate the cat(s).

Do you guys know if you have to have a CARB number in NJ? I know MACs don't have one so if a CARB is required, MACs are illegal. Thanks,

Sean

If you want to be "technical" about it... yes. You have to have a CARB number to be "legal". But if you are using a shorty header that retains the AIR/EGR and has not moved the cats then they will most likely pass without a problem. There are headers out there that dont have CARB numbers just because the manufacturer didnt want to go thru the hastle of getting one. Or by some way in the desgin of the header they have moved something to make them not able to get a CARB number.

If they moved the cat down by 1/2"... then they cant get a CARB number but they will pass a test and I doubt any inspector will look. As long as the cats are theye and they are in the same, or close to the same location as stock... they will pass. I know people with Macs in NJ that have passed going thru a state inspection line.

Oh, and if you go with LT's then you have to relocate the cats. But 9 times out of 10 if you go to LT's, your not one who is really concerned with emissions anyway. I went with LT's and no cats, and I still have a valid sticker on the car.
