I just picked up an LT-1 block to start a 383 stroker buildup for my 93 camaro. I'll be buying all the parts and doing the assembly myself, I just need a decent machine shop to prep the block (bore, hone, Line bore, etc). I was wondering if anyone had any recomendations for a decent shop on Long Isalnd, preferably in suffolk county?

Give S-K Speed a call. They're out in Lindenhurst on 109 near New Highway where the Southern State runs. Their engine building facility is there. Check phone book in Suffolk for their number.

Also Joe at J&B Automotive in Rockville Center is an engine builder and local racer. He could probably steer you to a decent shop. His number is 516 536 5677

 

There's also a place I know of and have no experience with on Knickerbocker Ave that works on Chevy's and Fords
