LT1 Shops in the area??

It's becoming pretty evident to me that most performance shops, although they may specialize in fbodies, chevys, and vettes will refuse to do engine or serious work on the LT1 motor. I was wondering if you guys could point me in the direction of a few good reputable shops in the area that will still work on them? I've contacted all the places that I know of in NJ, but I don't know of ones in other states. Can you guys help me out? THanks

Re: LT1 Shops in the area??

Might try 'Buster's Auto Center' in Trenton, NJ.?
(609)888-0300

I've used him in the past, and if I recall, he does alot of F-body work...even had his own sweet LS1 T/A which he races, in the shop

There's also 'Jay Fisher Pontiac' in Elmer, NJ.
(609)358-6911

He installed my LT's, and last time I visited him, he had 6 or 7 F-bodies in his shop getting rears installed, motor work, you name it.

Re: LT1 Shops in the area??

thanks for the replies. Are any of these places capable of dyno tuning? I'm looking to get a D1-SC kit installed. The motor, as my sig says, is already forged and built up. It's current compression ratio is about 10.5:1 so it's basically at the stock CR. I'd like to get it done right, by a real professional(s) who does good work and has a great reputation. Thanks again guys.

I've tried Cartek in the past, when I wanted to get my engine rebuilt, and they only do LS1s. Thanks tho,
here are the shops that I've contacted already: Cartek, TTP, East Coast Supercharging, Stage1automotive (will do the work but cannot tune), East Side Performance

I know we are little out of your way, but we build and tune lt1's. We have had some people come from NJ to have there cars worked on. I can give you there info if needed or do a search on fbody .com. We are here to help you out. I too have a lt1 car...so dont feel left out.

I know TTP has a dyno, but I'm 99% sure they don't have LT1Edit. I think Foff667 is talking about picking up Lt1edit, you may want to talk to him about tuning....

Re: LT1 Shops in the area??

Ellas Automotive & Performance in Williamstown, NJ does LT1's. 856-740-2343.
They don't have a dyno, but Brian Herter (PCMForLess) has come out to do tune cars before they go to the dyno. They do alot of mustangs but have built some really fast LT1 cars too.

Re: LT1 Shops in the area??

wow thanks for the reponses. There are a few that i have not heard of. I'll have to call them. I've contacted Rapid Motorsports and the guy mike who i've spoken with seemed like a real cool guy to do business with. I'm going to have to shop around a bit tho.
