LQQKING for LT1 block
LQQKING for LT1 block
im looking for an lt1 block close to the youngstown cleveland area. can be a bare block short or a full block. getting ready to rebuild, and id like to find a block in decent shape that i can look at with my own eyes before i buy...thanks
How about a 383 shortblock that's already built?
383 bored 0.030" over, aligned bored, stock caps, new ARP main studs and head studs, zero deck, used wiseco pistons w/ full floating pins, used Eagle H-beam rods that have been resized and reconditioned w/ new ARP rod bolts, new Scat 9000 series cast crank (3.75" stroke), all new bearings and rings. The motor has 20 minutes of engine dyno time. I'm selling to buy my friend's blower motor and blower. I'm asking $2,250, but can work w/ you on price because you're so far way.
Let me know if you're interested.
Thanks,
Steve.

There is a guy on an Ohio board with this ad:
"This motor is from a '95 Z-28 and it had 125k miles on the clock when it was removed from a wrecked body. With the engine you get the ECU, harness, and motor mounts. Also, this motor has ALUMINUM HEADS!
I'm selling the engine AS-IS with no warranty available.
The price at $650 is being listed as negotiable because we all know that everything is.

He did lower the price to $500 and he is in Westerville.

hmmm, the problem is that they are not as easy to come by anymore. I have a spare virgin 2 bolt block in my garage... but I'm not giving it up incase I ever need it
Its the original block from my stock motor with only 46K on it... great shape. But I dont want to give it up.
BTW, check the FS section. I just saw a 4 bolt block for sale there for $200 ish... I know you dont want to ship but you might have to go that route. Have you tried Ebay? I bought my block from a guy who lived only 20 min from me on Ebay a few years ago.
Shipping isnt bad. The block needs to be banded down to a pallet and then covered with a simple wooden box to cover it and protect it. Once the block is packaged it should not be more than $75-$100 to ship.
