its official

Well its official... I pulled the tags off of the Z today. Tomorrow I'll go turn them in. I havent used the car at all this year... i'm so bummed about it too. I've been so busy with work and the house this year the car kinda took a back seat for a while. But I'm now making a new goal. Next spring I want to have the car ready for racing. Its going to be alot of work to get it where I want it. Hopefully I can come up with a few extra bucks and get a bar in the car by spring... thats going to be the big thing. Man this nice cool weather has really given me the itch to go racin again!!!!

The insurance is just too expensive here in Jersey. I paid like $5 a mile in ins. cost last year

Yeah its insane.... the only thing I wanted on the car was liability so I could still drive it and comp incase it was stolen or the garage burned down. I couldnt find anyone to insure it for a reasonable price. So I have pulled the tags and decided to just up the insurance on the garage an extra 25K. That way if it burns down I can still recoup the loss. Sad part is that I cant drive it anymore.

Brian, sign up for points. You'll be driving every weekend. I will follow your lead and pull the Formula off the street next year. The only time the car was street driven is when Linda had my truck and I had to drive to the track. As soon as I get a second truck the insurance on the car will be dropped.

Sorry to hear that Brian. If it makes you feel any better I only put about 2500 miles on mine this year, so I'm not too far away from trailer/garage queen status. I really only get to drive it on the weekends any more since my son was born last year. I almost never drive it to work any more, I don't know who here has tried putting a 15 month old into a car seat in the back of an Fbody but it's not fun! And he doesn't really like it back there (yet ) That and I got tired of the looks I got from the Minivan moms at his daycare when I pick him up. As soon as I start it up they look at me like they think I'm about to lay a patch down accross the parking lot or something??? Why would they think that?

Cant you just "borrow" plates from another car? every once in a while. lol. just stay out of trouble.

or got one, get identical fbody as yours, in color, pull the z28 tags, a v6 fbody ought to be cheaper to insure. lol.

Yes the car is owned, and driving record is decent. I say that because I do have a 2 pt ticket from 2.5 years ago still on my record.

I have the old policy in front of me... $455 per 6 months. Thats liability and comprehensive only.... $1000 deductible. That alot for a car that saw less that 300 mile on the street last year. This doesnt include that fact that if something happens... I will only get book value after my $1000 ded.... its just not worth driving on the street anymore.
