I'm racing a truck at the Truckin Nationals!!!

A guy from work asked my friend Joe and me to race a truck for him. His friend built an older Ford pickup with a 3208 CAT in it. The guy who owns it is an older retired man who just has way too much money.... and has a few friends who work up at Cat with me and Joe

Its a monster and I'm a little scared to be honest with ya... Its probably a mid 70's Ford front with a 3208 in it.(636cid V8) It has 2 custom turbos pushing this sucker to 38psi thru an after cooler from a Kenworth. Propane injection, a little alcohol and a 100 shot of nitrous.... The guy who built this truck is a little nuts... basically he just wanted to do it so it did. Driving it looks like it will be a real chalange. Its riding on a set of 33x15 Hosiers. The real scary part is the truck only has a 92" wheel base. At a rolling weight of 5200lbs, it has a best time of 11.0x at 125+ with a huge cloud of black smoke blowing out of the 2 stacks sticking thru the hood.

Its more for show than anything... we cant be really competitive with it but we will sure have fun doing it.

If anyone happens to drop by the Truckin Nationals at E-town 9/18... stop by and see this thing. Its called "the CAT's meow"

Sounds AWESOME Brian! Remind us when it gets closer though... I have a terrible memory these days!

Re: I'm racing a truck at the Truckin Nationals!!!

i am gonan be headign down to steal some ideas from people. a friend of mine's dad stuffed an 11liter cat motor into a 82 silverado crew cab dually. the thing is nuts fast, but only halfway done. we are hoping to get it done over the winter adn run it in the spring.
it is a crazy install. had to jack teh cab up 3inches so the tranny tunnel woudl clear the back on the motor and we have to relo teh radiator and fans to fit teh grill back on.
the truck itself only has about 60k on it adn it retains a workign a/c

later
