I found out where my brother is!

Just incase some of you dont know he was deployed to Kuwait a few months ago. We have been in contact with him once a week or so up untill March 15th. That was the last time my family has heard from him. He called my mom and had 30 sec... basically he said "tell eveyone I love them and I will call as soon as I can". We knew imediately what was going to happen. 4 days later we bombed Baghdad. John is in the Marines. He is 3rd Batallion, 2nd Marines... yeah hes infantry. He is an expert marksman and an advanced morter man. Needless to say ever since the war started we have been glued to the TV hoping to hear anything to give us a clue where he is. About 5 days ago my moms friend called her at work. She was watching CNN and they have a reporter embedded with the 2nd Marines. His division was the first to invade Nasyria (sp?). That was the place they found the hospital with the chemical suits and what not. My mom was a mess untill then. Once she found out he was there and not on his way to Baghdad she felt much better. Well, this morning I waa getting ready for work when CNN began talking to the reporter with the 2rn Marines... they are on the move, approx 60 miles South of Bagdad and heading North. My best guess right now is that they are heading to the Baghdad Airport and preparing to invade the city. Now I just have to figure out weather or not to tell my mom this new news. The way I see it, if she doesnt know I'm not going to tell her right now. She will find out eventually so might as well give her a few more days of good sleep.

I've sent a few care packages already, so once they settle in and start getting their mail again he will have some supplies. My next package will be full of chewing tabaco and a couple cartons of cigs... The word on the street is that they are in short supply over there and most guys are running out. Thast just about the last thing Saddam wants... a bunch of pissed of and iratable Marines knockin on the door.

So if anyone has anything they want to send to the troops, but dont know anyone to send it too, give me a shout and I will send it over there for you. I'm sure the troops will appreciate it.

Hey man...glad to hear he's alright. One of my firefighter buddies is a Marine in Kuwait right now. I know it's not the same, but at some level I share your concerns. My best to your family.

Thanks guys... its a really wierd feeling knowing your own brother is there fighting for freedom. Someone has to do it. I saw a report this morning from Art Harris with CNN, as of this morning they were aprox 25-30 miles south of Baghdad and still heading north. Thank god we live in a country willing to stand up for themselves. I bet Sadam never thought President Bush would do it. I just hope the rest of the world sees that we will not take a beating sitting down. We will fight for what we belive in.

I think the best video I have seen is the one of the Marines taking a shower in the Iraqi Presidential Palace... lol

lol, you know they will! My last shipment to him included the last 2 issues of Maxim Magazine. Next time I see ya at the track bring em and I'll make sure he gets them.

My next care package is going to be waterless hand cleaner, ziploc bags, some mini Bic liters, 2-3 cartons of cigs, some magazines, pics from home, moist towlets, snacks, and a mini nerf football. Have to start planning for the future here. When he does finally get them hopefully they will have settled in somewhere and will have quite a bit of free time.

Hey, I just have to say that your brother and the rest of the US troops are kickin some nice *** over there in Iraq!! I appreciate what the troops are doing over there, and they all have my support to the fullest. I hope your brother makes it home in good health after the mission is accomplished over in Iraq.

I think it's pretty cool how you can send stuff to the troops in battle, I didn't think they would be able to get stuff like mags and other things that you mentioned. If I wasn't so poor right now, I would send some stuff over there to help with there moral ya know! I just can't though and it sucks now that I know I could do it for them if I had the dough.

What I could do is just say that I support them in the fullest degree and hope that they all get home safely after kickin Sadams ***!!

I watch CNN all day and my TV channel does not change at all ever. Since the war started, all I do is stare at CNN all day and night long. It's crazy but this is the first war that i'm really into. I think maybe cause i'm getting a little older now(27) these things have more meaning to me. Anyway, God Bless your brother, the rest of the troops and God Bless U.S.A.!!!

Brian,
I'm glad to hear that your brother is doing well. It takes a hell of a person to do what him and other soldiers are over there doing. I wouldn't even know how to begin to say Thank You if one stood before me.

I'd like to send some things over to him and his troop. Do you have an address? Do you know if the troops in Baghdad are getting mail from the U.S.?

Thanks Brian

Gene, not sure bro. Right now I'm guessing I'll see ya at AIS. But if anything pops up before then I'll let ya know.

Jacki, I feel the same way. Those guys deserve a BIG parade when they get home. As of right now we think hes going north of Baghdad to help in securing the northern part of the country. Troops on the front lines that are on the move are not getting all of their mail just yet. They are only occasionally getting letters and small envelopes. Packages are not getting to them yet. But everything is still being sent and I belive its sitting in Kuwait untill they settle in somewhere. Once they do they will start bringing in the large care packages. Its just still too dangerous to risk the lives of soldiers for driving a big truck full of care packages thru Iraq...

Send whatever you want, they will divide it among the men in their company. Yes I do have an address, e-mail me and give it to you. I dont want to post it on a public board. Thanks in advance for my brother. I'm sure all the men of the 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marines, weapons co. will appreciate it.

My next package goes out Sat... I'm sure they will like this one!!!
