hyper tech tunning lose of power?
I did it but i don't know if it took away. to me it felt like i added more then take away.
Some say it doesn't do anything but it will take about 80 miles before you realize any difference in the car. When i 1st got my programmed i couldnt tell a difference at all then at about 80-100 miles i could.
I just left the shift firmness off as some say it can mess up the tranny, so better safe then sorry

powerprogramer
bought mine to fix my gear swap long time ago before i got hooked on forced induction did not notice right away was to happy about gear swap but over time it did start to run better did you do the thermostat would recomend the 160 that helps as well
it wont take power, it'll ad some low down torque thats about it...I wouldnt use it if i had anything more then bolt ons..I used it on and off back to back runs at the track and ran identical..it is a cool tool to mess around w/ if spending 300 bucks is no biggie to ya
HPP was desgined with a stock or mostly stock car in mind. On a bone stock car it probably would net a HP increase but your not gonna feel it in the butt-o-meter.
That being said its still a great tool for the average tuner who just wants to swap gears and play with different tires and what not. Its pricey only to those who already have the bigger and better stuff. But for someone who doesnt own a laptop or want to do a mail order tune its actually not a bad price for the ability to make your own changes.
Back in the day it was one of the first things I bought for my car. I track tested it over a course of 6 runs on the same night. 3 without the tuning, and 3 with it. I did not gain anything in ET, but my average in MPH did increase by almost 1 mph.
FWIW, at the time the HPP proved to be a usefull tool because I changed gears, shiftpoints and tires size a few times and I did improve in the performance end. If I had to send my PCM away for every change I made, I would have been watching my car sit for months while the PCM was in transit. And probably would have spent 5 times the amount.
Now I just use LT1 edit for everything
