How illegal is neon in NJ? Licence plate frames?

I was wondering how illegal neon licence plate holders are in NJ? I saw a camaro with one arround town, and kinda liked it, but dont wanna get stopped for having one. Can they stop you for having one, or do the have to pull you over for something else and then give ya a ticket for the neon? And would red neon be legal since it faces the rear, and could kinda be considered a "tail light"?

They are very illegal... Back in the day I had a Saturn, Tinted windows ans neon's... I was living in ohio when I got it, as soon as I mooved home I was pulled over. I mean that night. I ignored it and was pulled over 5 times in the first 2 weeks, and after $200 in tickets I decided it wasnt wort it. Dont get on if you live in Jersey... you will be stopped just for that.

I have to agree, why on earth would you want to do that with an F-body? Sorry, very sorry...

Brian,
I can't picture you driving around with neon lights...anywhere

C'mon now, Jim...give yourself a little credit here .

By the way, my dad went to the 1/4 final last Sunday at Maple Grove. Rick took the Monte to Atco yesterday and it still isn't running right...

That's no excuse! Just like saying getting a tatoo at 18 was OK because you were young

How about getting a tatoo at 38? Yes she did !!!!!!!!!!! Don't think I'll go any further cause I might end up a dead man.

Jackie, congrats to you dad!!! He has to be a very good bracket racer to get that far in Super at the Grove Rick will get things sorted out before too long. Unlike my dog, Rick can still get his down the track. I think that I'll chill for a couple of weeks then decide what to do with my car. I see a Turbo 350 in its future. PS tell Rick, "WHAT CLUTCH".

I agree completely , I disown anyone that has a F-body with some corny rice lights!! I didn't even think people still bought neon liscense plate frames, those are more stupid looking than the underbody ones!

Also agree with the dropping of the front plate. It looks tons better than with the plate and complies with all F-body owners! I did it and I have no tickets yet. If you want to be safe like me, just put the plate in the windsheild on your dash!

Not a good idea. If you're ever in a bad accident, that baby will come flying off the dash like a blade...

It's not legal to do that anyway... The plate is supposed to be on the front of the car. Be careful!! If you're dead set against putting the plate on the front of the car, just leave it home.

Hey E! Just dont put it on! It has been 3yrs that I have never used it. But I always have it next to me to pull it out on the dash if I see a cop in front. But dont get me wrong, I did get two tickets cause of that in the three yrs. Oh! and the ticket was $40, just so everyone knows.
