First runs in "The CAT's Meow"
As some of you know my buddy (Joe) and I were asked to run this truck at the US Diesel Truckin nationals at E town on the 18th. So tonight we took it out for the first time runs at Atco.
A little history on the truck... its 68 Ford 150 chassis with a 72 nose, It has a CAT 3208 in it. (V8 636cid) Custom air to air aftercooler with 2 turbo's pushing 38psi to the motor. Propane injection and a 2 stage N2O system. We arent really sure how much nitrous its gets... the owner of the truck just jetted it up untill he blew the head gaskets and backed it off
Joe is driving the truck and I am the pit crew. First pass out we had some problems staging. It has a drive shaft brake hooked up to a second brake pedal. We had some problems with the brakes not holding and the drive shaft brake slipping. A little burn out problem with not enough water in the box, but the truck clicked off a 12.27 @116 for the first time out.
Second run was better... good burnout cause we go tthe line lock working and the tires wet. Staged the car and it rolled while trying to bring the motor up on the conveter. 12.07 @116
third pass we really decided to turn the nitrous on. Had a major problem on the line and the truck rolled off the line while Joe was trying to stall the converter again. 12.78 @119
Now we decided to forget about the drivshaft brake and go from idle. Much better with a 1.95 60', 11.85 @119
5th and finlal run of the night Joe did monster john force burnout and actualy staged the truck without rolling. Off idle it went 1.92, 11.79 @ 120
Not too shabby for a 5000lb+ truck...
We have a ton of video and pics but I have now way to post them. I'm going to bring my dads digi camera on the 18th and get som pics... I'll post them shortly after.
Anyone else down there? I know there were a few F-body guys...

Hehehe - that sounds badass. One of my friends is building something similar: Early 80's chevy Silverado crew cab dually with an 11L CAT diesel (don't remember which one).
They are still working on final fitment, but they have started it up and drove it around their lot a few times.
