E-Town Sat March 7 Street Wars 1

This Saturday is the first imports vs domestic race. I plan to go down if weather permits. Going to slow the Mustang down a tad to fit in the SS (14.0 and slower) class. $30 to enter. Payouts are $400 to win, $200 RU, $100 Semi's, and $30 for the Quarter finals. This will be my first time out this year.

how in the world are you going to consistantly get that thing to hit 14.00 without lifting off the throttle at the end???

Deep stage, add 200lbs, and the 87 octane Diablo tune. In great air the car should run 14.0x. I'm very comfortable holding .02-.04 and if necessary can hold up to .15 then back in on the top end. I just have to be dialed 14.0 or slower not 14.0 dead on. Last year I ran the car at this event with the above setup and went 14.02 in the timeshots. I did run the car last November at Cecil just to see how fast and ended up with a 13.14 @104 Its all how you set up the car. In eliminations, I'm on the breaks 90% of the time.

Yep its a zoo but there's 400 reasons to go. If I don't do anything really stupid I should end up being one of the 8 last bracket racers. Let me predict, 1 import, 3 RP points guys, 2 from MG, 1 from NU and me. lol

you are most likely right. If you can dial within 1/2 a sec and cut a light better than .100 then you should be in the top 8 haha

I'll have the car set to cut a .050 light with the imports then step up to a .020 for the last 3 rounds. Will most likely be holding only .02-.03 in each elimination round. Weather is calling for 60 degrees. Might be running 14.1x's with the extra 200lbs.

Do you want the long blow by blow version or the outcome?

Lessons learned
Check enging light means dial up .30
Where is the finish line at RP???
Believe and just hit the tree

I lost in the quarters, bad light, mis dialed the car, and mis read the stripe. Got a white sticker, jegs log book, a little trophy, and my entry fee back. Lost to last season's #2 street guy in the 5th (quarters) round. For the record I was .127 (ugh) on the tree and ran a 14.053 on a 14.03 dial out the back door. I'm picking up the finish line 10' past the beam. I thought I took the strip but lost by .05 (1/2 a car). I misread the finish the same way in the last points race. For some reason I'm picking up the wrong place (finish line) in the heat of the race. I will revisit the finish line next Sunday morning before the points race. All in all I got 7 "test and tune" runs for free. Pony ran a 14.319 with a check engine light and I retuned. Ran a 13.96, then acording to my 1000' calcs went 13.94, 13.94, 13.98, 14.03, all on a 14.00 dial, then a 14.05out the back door on a loosing 14.03 dial.

I pit up by the finish line. Maybe I should pit on the finish line, that way I might be able to find it.

City girl, I know you think that Sellersville and Douglasville are the same place. I'm a bit more west like an hour. To you they are both Sticksville. We now have streetlights so its time to put up the forsale sigh.

I know the difference... she's northwest and you're just west. I'm not that directionaly challenged. But you are correct that I feel they are both sticksville.

She was complaining to me when she first moved out there that she was lonely, and everything is so far away... really? I never would have thought it would be like that if you move an hour + away from all your friends and family!
