Say hello to Samuel James! born yesterday 1/25 at 5:34pm. 7lbs 10oz, 20 1/2" long.
Hes about 2 hrs old in this pics and a little cranky because they just gave him a bath.
So far both Liz and Sam are both doing great. She should be home tomorrow. Sam is working on the whole breast feeding thing and I think he will catch on eventually. He hasn't quite got it down yet, but hes poopin and peein and slowly learning to eat.
Liz needs to get her blood pressure down a bit. Its a little high since having Sam but its understandable by seeing how much fluid she has in her. She is swolen all over.
You always hear how great it is to be a dad but you never really find out till you are. I'm so amazed at how just one thing can make you have such a different outlook on everything!
Gotta give Liz alot of credit too. She put up with 10 hrs of contractions before she took the epidural. And let me say that the guy who invented that stuff should be given a medal!
She ended up with anouther 10 hrs of labor and Sam did just fine thru the whole thing.
We went to Virtua Vorhees and that place is just a baby factory. 5,500 babies born there in 2006. Yesterday was a very busy day for them. They actually had to give liz some more drugs to hold off delivering Sam because they had so many babies at once. Liz was 1 of 6 that were fully dilated and ready to deliver all at the same time. I ended up being the RN's right hand man so to speak untill the Dr. came in. She had just ran out of a C-section and came in to deliver Liz. Crazy day at the Hospital. all together I think they said there were 17 babies from about 9 am on that day.
They show you tapes of this stuff but you really can never be prepared for what you see. Thank god men dont have babies cause if it was up to us we would be dinosaurs in no time.

Mid 10s is a good estimate.
Every 10 minutes or so some sort of fluid needs to come in or out of an orifice or some sort of sound must happen, around the clock for the next few months.
Congratulations.

Welcome to the parent "club".
Enjoy the moments as they are fleeting and pass quickly. Next thing you know, you will be sitting somewhat nervously in the passenger seat while your kid learns how to do a burnout in your prized car in a parking lot.

Good to hear Mom and boy are fine and healthy....
Carol and I send our best to you all.
