Carlisle all GM show - anybody going?

The Carlisle all GM show is the weekend of June 18,19,20. If your coming, bring your F-body down to South Mountain dragway Friday afternoon for an all GM evening race. These things can be a hoot if the weather behaves. The Ford & Chrysler shows are always packed- GM show has been plauged (sp) with bad weather the last 4 years.

It's a 1/8 mile, not a 1/4 mile strip

Yep - It's only 1/8 mile. Actually used to be a 3/16 mile track in the 60's and early 70's. Then the cars got too fast and started ending up in the woods. Now even the really fast cars have to put the binders on pretty good to make the turn at the end.

Lost in the semi finals Friday night. Traction was non existant as the "Smokey Mountain" crew decided that scraping the track wasn't really needed. I struggled with bad traction all night, but my final run was so bad I actually had to pedal the throttle a bit. I knew I was toast from the get-go. Any who, I had a good deal of fun and made my entrance fee plus a couple of bucks for fuel.

Went to the show and just got back. I did not go to the track. I had a lot of fun at the show and found some iroc wheels for my trailer at the swap meet for $10, what a deal. I also took 1st place in the show. I like this show a lot and is probabaly one of my favorites.

Myself and a few other buddies are gonna try and make it down, I ve got to see how work goes and such.

We went last year and it was friggin awesome, it had to be one of the best times Ive ever had at a car show, the Berger ZL1s were there and prolly another 1100 cars total id guess,

Later,
-john
