one more thing about cable, its touchy with xp, gives me a hard time so i kick the computer and put my other drive with 98 se in. alot faster then. i have never had so many security breaches as i do with xp. bill gates is rich but still goofs up. i agree with 97 trans about the i.p's especially if you network pier to pier. nice car too.

I've had Comcast for a couple of years now. I couldn't be happier with their service. I originally ordered the "self installation kit" but when they forgot to mail it to me, they sent one of their techs out to install everything free of charge! I really made out on that deal because my PC at the time was a dinasour and he had all kinds of problems - I can't imagine getting through that on my own!

I didn't know I could have comcast upgrade my modem though. Maybe I should give them a call.

 

I had comast once before but it was a few years ago. Actually it was pretty new to our area at the time. They sent a tech out and they installed it for me. I had the same problem jackie, my computer was a dinosuar then... so its practicaly just a pile of broken bones now. I was not real happy with it because I always had bandwidth broplems... it just wasnt all that fast. Part of the problem was probably my computer. Thats why I am going to use the newer laptop I have. Its faster, more memory and a much larger HD in it. I just have to get it running and then I will call comcast. Comcast had problems around here when I had it last time, every other day they went down and I was knocked off line. after they fixed the problems on their end I could not get back in, I was on the phine with them several times just trying to get back on... aparently alot of people around here had the same problems. But that was long ago and I asked about it because I figured they have made major improvements to their system over the years.


Im ditching aol. they were not the original problem, my home PC is infected, but aol compunded the problem. I'm just tired of them, its time to move on.
