Big Event idea?

Okay so I was at work tonight and my neighbor with the new viper rolls up. We are all talking and my manager was asking about our meets. So I showed him some pics and he was really interested. He is really interested in seeing one so we came up with the idea of having one at the pizza shop i work at. This way he can see it and lets not beat around the bush.. he sees it as a good oppurtunity to make some money... SO. here are some ideas we toyed around with.

The lot out front can hold about 10 cars (very small) so if there isnt much interest we could have a small get together and eat there and just hang out.. much like most of the EPFBA meets.

BUT if there is a big interest.. there is a huge parking lot out back. It can probably hold about 80 cars and on top of that there are a few other lots surrounding it. So we were just throwing some ideas back and forth and really liked the idea of having a huuge meet back there with tons of cars.. not just F-bodies but any American Muscle or classic car. We were toying with the idea of maybe each participant getting a card thats like 5 or 6 bucks maybe and being able to eat whatever pizza (a fair amount.. not go overboard) and unlimited drinks. I think this could be a great oppurtunity to get a big event together. Hell if people want to chip in money to participate I can have trophys made and we could have judges award cars of different classes. My friend with the viper was talking about getting maybe even media attention too.

I dont know.. honestly if we could get the second idea to work that would be fantastic.. if not the first works for me too, its still nice to hang out with people. BUT I would really like to get a big event together to kick off the new season (maybe sometime in April).

So lets get some ideas out there, see if anyones interested and lets make it happen!

P.S. Im on LS1tech CZ28.com and EPFBA.org.. any other forums you guys know of please pass this along thanks!

i just got off the phone with dale. he would like to see a minimum of 10 cars to pull the dyno trailer to k.o.p or that general area. 10 cars would be $75 each. every 5 cars more lowers it $5, or 25-30 cars on the dyno we can do $60 a car.

if i/you can get committments from people and collect 50% of the money upfront, i can negotiate a lower price for those who prepaid or put a deposit down. my biggest fear is (and it happened before) all kinds of people commit but dont show and you have this guy spending money on tolls and gas lugging that thing around for nothing. i had 14 people lined up once and only myself, 97transam (ron) and 2 others showed up. i looked like a complete idiot, and dale holmnick honored the price for the 14 cars anyway. classy guy.

i dont know how much it would be, but dales sometimes works with bryan herter (pcm4less) and that might be another possibility. that id definately want to collect 50% down on all dyno tunes as bryan has to travel.

give me a date to work with and ill see what i can do. pinks is may 11+12th so i cant do that weekend. as far as trophies, depending on turnout, ill pitch in for a couple to be made, and print some voing slips for best looking original, best modded, and loudest exhaust. for loudest exhaust, ill see if i can get a meter so its done fairly unless you want the crowd to pick. ron is banned from the trophies as he has a billion of them in his backseat already

if your serious about this, let me know and ill pm my number to hammer out all details i can do from my end. maybe have the contests first and give the 3 winners a free dyno (price will be offset in regular dyno fees) ?

myslowcamaro.. you are a huge help man. My manager talked to the owners of the store and they are absolutely for this event. Im going to talk to the local police about the parking lot and see if having the dyno and what not is going to be okay. I will get back to you as soon as I know more

Yeah, Dale is a class act and I don't care to see him get screwed. Since that time with "myslowcamaro", Scott, I have been over there after ever mod I have done. Brandon, you need to get money committments from people. If you can do that, Dale's dyno would be a big hit for the group gathering.

Me, I just called Dale now after a mod and meet up with at the shop as its only a few miles from my house. Lucky lucky f'n me!!!!

mention it to ryan (bow94z) he belongs to every car forum under the sun including a local street racers site. lets make a thread in every site we belong to. see if your boss will let you hang a flyer in the window. if dale is committed, im sure we can talk him into posting it on his website for a short time.
