Bergen County...
Anyone know a good place in the Bergen County Area, but the George Washington Bridge to be more specific... a good place to send my Trans Am (When I get it) to do some work to it if I need to... heads, cam, exhaust fabrications, etc... anything at all. I would like to bring it to a place who is familiar with these types of cars... So its nothing they haven't seen before. Thanks
I do. And let me tell you, I have yet to find a single good place. The place I took my car to get my cam done.... East Coast Performance in Bloomfield...
Holy crap man. After a week and a half of work, 3 sets of broken pushrods later, and a ****ing $1800 bill (FOR A CAM AND ROLLER ROCKERS), I got my car back. They totally took advantage of me because i was a teenager, and didnt think I knew anything about cars. They wouldnt change the bill even though i TOLD them that they would have to shave the valve covers a little to make the RRs fit.... but NOOOO, they bent so many pushrods trying to get it to work (of course i had to pay for the new ones). Finally, they were like "yeah, we realized we had to modify the valve covers a bit. NO ****.
Sorry, just had to vent a bit...
Apparently there is a good place in Carteret NJ, but thats kinda far from us (around exit 130ish on the parkway I think). I forget the name though. Also, if you are planning to do any REALLY technical stuff (like total engine rebuild), I hear there is a good place in Emerson that does that kinda thing. Not Fbody specific, but I guess they do good work. I think they are called North Jersey Performance? I may be wrong though.
You could always go on rt 46 and take it to one of the BILLION import ricer garages that specialize in installing intake, exhaust and rims. But if you find anywhere good, let me know.
By the way, I think my neighbor is selling her transam. Pretty sure its a WS6, not sure about manual or monsoon system though. I could ask if you are serious?
