My brother is in the Marines and is stationed down in Camp Lejeune NC.He has been on standby for a little ofer a month now. We just got word that he and his platoon are being shiped out in the next 3 weeks. Guess where they are going? Yeah... Iraq. I have to go down to NC next weekend and pick up his stuff and his truck and drive it home. Since he will be gone for at least 6 months he has no need for it. His truck will be my new daily vehicle. I actually think he has to sign over power of attorney to my mom, so she can take care of his buisness while he is away. Hearing that his will is has to be made out really lets ya know just how serious it is. I was really hoping to avoid a war with Iraq, but it really dosent look like thats going to happen any more. God bless the US armed forces... we will all be thinking of you. Anyone else have family thats being shipped out?

No one I know off hand in my family but my mom's friends son is in the Maines as well. Over in Germany I think.

I got a letter in the mail about some program to interview for? They looking for pilots?

I am curious how the North Korea thing is going to shake out too...and then there is a senator that wants to start the draft up?

 

I'm right there with ya. I'm deploying on Friday the 10th to an "undisclosed location" I.E. the same place I always go. We just need to get this crap over with.

 

I just talked to him last night. He is deploying on Sat the 11th. That really sux cause I wanted to see him before he left. I'm leaving here Sat morning with my other brother and Liz to head down. We probably wont get there till 4pm, he will be gone by then. He will have his 98 s-10 loaded up with all his stuff in the cab, we will go on base and have to find his baracs(sp?), get his truck and start heading home. When we get tired we'll pull over and find a hotel for the night. Then continue on home in the morning.

I'm really curious to see how this N. Korea thing turn out too. But we really have to do something in this world. If we just sit back and watch, everyone and thier mother will have nukes. Its amazing how other parts of the world think. Are boys are going out there to make sure we can enjoy our lives with freedom. I'm behind them 100%.

On a side note... after talking to my brother, I would be really afraid if I was on the other side of the playing field. Those guys are fired up and ready to open a serious can of whoop a$$!
