Post BAD day at 42 for me...

I had fun at least. My bes of the night was a 14.3XX @100 mph. This car will not go any faster. In fact, it is getting slower and slower. This time, 4:10 gears, new Kumho's, intake gasket, opti, & water pump was changed, I lost 7/10ths. Last year at norwalk I had a best of 13.75, after all that work and $$$ "making it better" I am almost 7/10ths slower. I am getting real close to selling it and buying a LS1 car. I haven't amde an improvement in over 2 years. Ran 13.70's with manifolds, ran 13.70's with headers....now it's slower w 4:10's? Grrrrrr....sorry, venting.

At least there were a lot of 15 sec cars tonight....

That is puzzling. What are the comparable temperatures/humidity. My car would run 14.1s (almost the same as borla/cai) after I installed headers but in cold air 13.7s. What are the full slips? 60's and mph.

I could also venture to say that maybe since the 4.10 install you need to rework how you launch. You might be spinning or bogging. A lot more factors with a M6 than A4.

I'm in Akron too and plan on hitting D42 on Sept. 20th so if you want to go.

I don't have the time slips on me. I will post exacts later today. The best run of the night was:
2.2xx 60'
14.3xx 1/4 @ 99.46 mph

My previous best 60' before 4:10's was 2.055, so that hurt me a little. My main concern was the MPH. I can take it if I am a terrible driver, but judging by the 99 MPH trap, I am figuring I am don on power significantly. 2 years ago, with just a CAI and Flowmaster, i was running consistent 13.80's @ 102+ MPH.

I was just starting to learn the launch when they closed down the staging lanes. I think with some more practice, I can get it down to 1.9-2.0 on the Kumho's.

I might be up for it on the 20th, though I am going to Norwalk on the 22nd.

Thanks for the encouragement, though. I do appreciate it. I really love the car, but I am getting to the end of my rope. It looks great, it was on the cover of the Summit catalog last month, but I am not satisified having a show car!!! I've fixed everything I can find to fix, except the Evap...it doesn't hesitate or stumble, it's just way down on power.

Just for the hell of it, try an LT4 knock module. Headers have been know to cause these cars to retard their timing. Last year with more or less the same mods as you minus the headers and gears I was running 13.7s consistently with just 2.1x 60fts at the track you ran last night.

Thanks fellas!!! The car felt strong tonight ont he way to dinner. I think it is just teasing me, or maybe it is heat soaking really bad on the 1 hour drive to the track.

I tightened all the header bolts, again. Maybe I will cal my guy at Burts and get on of those modules.

I will try that vacuum hose thing also, Waswa. Thanks.

A loose plug wire can cost a couple of mph. So can barometric pressure and humidity. Many reasons why you appear to be down on power.

Last week I was running consistent 11.90's at 111. This weekend with 90 degree heat I was running 12 teens at 108.
