Atco Last Night!

For those who don't check the drag racing board!

Atco was dead last night. So dead that I hot lapped my car for 34 runs in four hours last night, stopping only once early on with the other 4 people that were there to gripe about the lack of traction. First 5 runs netted no better than a 2.21 60' and 13.71 ET.

A little later though, hence run 6 and up, the track started to hook, and I was getting consistent low 2.0x, with a best of 1.99. This translated into a new personal best time of 13.09 and best mph of 106.83. I just with I could have hooked the dr's in to the low 1.9x high 1.8x range so I could finally see those 12's!

I did get the pleasure of running almost neck in neck early on with a 382 P&P 00 LS1 T/A. He went 13.0 and I went 13.7, only his trap was about 8 mph more than me. There were two VERY nice GN's there last night too. One of which I ran three times and they were very close races. I kept beating him off the lights, but he was running 12.7's.

There were no more than about 20 cars there last night, and it's definitely one of the coolest nights drag racing that I've ever had. The car was breaking traction in all three shifts, running like a bat out of hell, just no traction. Oh well, there's always friday.

Don't expect it to be empty like that for long.

Glad to hear you enjoyed yourself!

I was there last night. After the gamblers finished up it went really fast. I got four runs in in two hours just because I parked my car for a good bit of time after my third run. I noticed what you did, my first few runs traction was a bigger issue than it was later in the night. Heres how my runs looked:

run 1: RT---1.078
60'---2.180
1/8---9.125 @ 79.78
ET----14.072 @99.72

run 2: RT---.741
60'---2.170
1/8---9.095 @ 79.62
ET----14.043 @99.88

run 3: RT---.803
60'---2.114
1/8---8.961 @ 80.26
ET----13.893 @ 99.77

run 4: RT---.727
60'---2.104
1/8---8.940 @ 80.24
ET----13.858 @100.49

Those are nice times and traps for a nearly stock car. Awesome!

Thanks, those runs were with a busted trans mount as well, i dunno if that would hurt my times at all but it sounded like crap going down the track.

I have an A4 and the tires chirped on both upshifts on the way down the track, could this be due to the busted trans mount because i never had this happen before on the street.

See, 93's really are faster. =)

hehe. I got to make my trip to atco for the atco mod, as soon as I get my suspension installed. So hoping for 12.9x =)

Good luck, the tracks been hooking like crap lately! Granted, they're not a "big" track, and I understand that it's been cold, but when I can barely get a 1.99 short time on Nitto's then I think somethings wrong.

Atco is a faster track, but because of all the moisture, have to let the ground dry naturally, unlike etown, but still. just cant wait for it to dry up a bit, but still stay cool.

The 8 second dragsters and 9 second door cars didn't have any trouble hooking on Saturday night... or last Saturday night...
