Middle Atlantic New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania

Anyone know of any "Lenient" emissions places?

Friend needs to pass with tinted windows. Thanks

In Virginia the inspection station has nothing to do with tint. They have to pass your vehicle. Only state police can mess with us.

Are you sure they can fail it in NJ?

Those words do not belong in the same sentence together.... NJ and lenient emissions.


None I know of in NJ.

If your biggest problem is tint then just pull it off the sisdes and go thru. then spend the $99 to have it put back on.

Ay shop willing to "over look" an item is going to charge you a lot more than that anyway. I dont know of any anymore. The state has cracked down on them so hard that its just not worth it for them to try anymore. They will loose their buisness and have to pay major fines for a guy on the street with thinted windows....

Are you sure they can fail it in NJ?
Yup if the front windows are tinted in any way they will fail you.
