Cool Anyone going to Island on Sunday?

I think we're going to take a ride up to Island Dragway on Sunday to make a few passes.

My dad is looking for his best time in his Vega.
My brother is going to run his AWD Eclipse.
The boyfriend finally has the racecar (80 monte) together and is ready to drive it down the track.

Anyone else heading there this Sunday (the 3rd)?

Alrighty.

We'll be there with 2 enclosed trailers - 1 white and 1 red. A red 71 vega with a glass front end and a blue 80 monte carlo. My brother's eclipse is dark green.

Keep an eye out for us too!

Jackie, Island??? gee I'll be at ATCO on Saturday and the Grove on Sunday. Maybe we can get together before X-mas. Englishtown is on my calander for the next two Saturdays after this weekend for the trophy marathon. Then the street tire go on. I'm too much of a putz to run in really cold weather.

It looks like the driveshaft will be in by friday.... So I'll be there...

First runs on the new powerglide/brake should be a hoot. (bringing a couple of changes of undies)

I was informed last night that it's too hilly to tow to Island, so they decided to go to the Grove.

It looks like I won't be checking out a new track after all .

Jim - look for us!! I described our stuff above. Rick is not driving the van anymore though, he's driving a blue Dodge Ram.

This was an old thread. That Sunday is when my car went CRUNCH going into 3rd and no more shifting after that. I live outside of Reading Pa and usually hit Maple Grove. E-town has a bunch of special "F-Body" events that I try to attend, and may do ATCO a few time a year. Same wiht Cecil but I never went to Island.

No pics, it was an internal transmission crunch. I acutally won that round but lost the next one because I couldn't get the car to shift into 4th. Car now has a full tilt Turbo 400 full manual with a reverse shift pattern. No more clutch but I'll still be shifting.

Yea things start to go crunch when you make 300-400 runs on the car per year. But it a great excuse to upgrade.

Where is Island Dragway? Is it closer to the NYC than E-town?
