wait, hold on, you have a car, that you obviously drive and modded, but no drivers lisense?
go to the track yet? island is not for newbies, very short run off. lol
english town is better for new people. more help and they expect people to be newbies,
plus, I live like 10 to 15 mins away from englishtown, lol.
I may drag my *** out after i change the tranny mount this weekend. need some runs for baselines before heads/cam/stall
very clean 93 btw. =)

I drive with my permit i bought the car when i turned 16 because it was really cheap for what most were selling for at the time. Thanks for telling me that ill go to english town then i was thinking island dragway might be better because i could get more runs in to practice. Im in westwood, bergen county. A pretty good drive from englishtown your lucky to live so close.
if you want lots of runs, either go to etown on wed, fridays are full of rice boys and they usually cap it at 3 runs.
wed's get there early and you will be ok.
have not been ther eyet this year at etown. If you want to get lots of runs in, get your butt down to atco, from you probly 2 hours.
just remember:
Facilities wise/NEWB friendliness Etown > Atco
Track Prep/Runs Atco>Etown.
furthermore, Island drag way is only pro tree, that is the .400, meaning all lights go on at same time. while atco and etown are standard trees.
if you want to head out to etown next week, send me a pm, will order a set of drags and hopefully have my lca's and sfc's installed, and better have my new tranny mount in, lol.

atco or etown
hey aero, either track, where you check in at or whatever, never been to any track yet but my cousin and i want to go soon. any help would be cool since it sounds like you been to both and atco's website is always down.
At etown? you mean where the check in is at?
as long as tehy did not change it this year.......
just go there, at entrance you pay the $20 to race, they give you a tech card, You also have to pay for the race number, speaking of which, have to renew mine this year. a Race number is the number you use for your car, it is $3 for the year.
Then with your new tech card, in hand just make the righ and you will go by side of track, you will see the staging lanes, towards the back, there should be a sign there where the techs are at, if there is no line, then park your car on the side and fill out the card, if there is a line for techs, then you can fill the card there while waiting, if there is no line, then park care and fill it out, it annoys the heck out of the techs and others if you are waiting there because someone is at the front, and did not fill out the card.
they usually check the tires, ask you if you have nitrous, if you do, they have to check the bottle.
do yourself a favor, if you are goign to go to the tracks often, which most of us do anyway, lol, buy your own helmet, as it IS REQUIRED for any times. if you do not have one, you can rent one there for like $2 to $5, i do not remember how much it was.
then just get into the staging lanes, the one they assign to you at teh techs and write on your card and car.
some common rules and courtesy:
1. when they call your lane over the intercom, be by your car or in your car, dont run away, because if your lane is called and you are not there, you are blocking everyone.
2. If you are on street tires, go around the water box so you dont drag water onto the track and make it worse for everyone.
3. DONT BE AFRAID TO ASK FOR HELP. Everyone has their first times, and more often then not, you are not the ony person there who'se first time is the day you are.
In the end , have fun.
btw, those LS1 people, dont be discouraged, lol, they think the ls1 is god's gift to earth. =)
