all f-body series????
all f-body series????
hey gang,
we are gauging interest in putting together and all f-body racing series for the 2007 season. something along the lines of 3-5 events with a points championship for both racing and car show. the events would be spread out over the entire summer, starting in april/may and holding the last event in september most likley.
right now the outlien we have in place includes 4 heads up classes, 3 foot brake bracket classes, 1 open electronics bracket, and a complete car show with either 4 or 8 primary classes and a bunch of specialty awards.
we will be putting up a new forum on the NJFBOA site with some more detailed information.
i was wondering if anyone had any particular concerns or questions that you think we shoudl keep in mind when planning this series? any particular style of racing or car show classes that you would like to see? any particular tracks around the northeast/mid-atlantic you woudl liek to see us visit? (please include a link to the tracks site in your post so i cna get in touch with them)
i will post up the link as soon as we get the forum up and running and have some of the basic rules outlines posted for discussion.
we had a lot of fun at the f-body clash and look forward to another sucessful east coast nats in august. hopefully this series will meet with the same support and really turn into something fun for everyone.
-thanks

Re: all f-body series????
Looks like it could shape up to be a fun set of events. I will run points in it next year if you can get it going by then.
Here is one item I dont know about though:
3. Extreme Street: This would be the serious race car class for those still running "stock" type suspensions.
Elimination racing will be on a traditional heads up tree (.400 pro)
After qualifying passes a ladder will be developed based on each cars best time trial run.
Trans brakes and two-steps acceptable
Drive tires limited to maximum 10.5" section full slick ("W" acceptable) or 11.5" section street/cheater slick as stamped on tire sidewall. Any front tire size or construction is acceptable
Cars must retain all factory glass
Must run through mufflers*
Power adders: Limited to any single type of power adder, no combining. Multi stage nitrous, multi turbo, and multi supercharger apllications accepted. Boosted applications can combine intake charge cooling systems
Suspension must be of a factory style, and are limited to bolt on type modifications, no back halved cars allowed
***This is a race car class with no interior or street equipment required (must have a factory appearing body). We are looking at a base weight around 2900lbs
I dont agree with the items in bold.
If its a "RACE CAR" class then the glass should not have anything to do with it.
If its a "STREET CAR" then I understand the factory glass thing...
How many all out race cars have factory glass?

Re: all f-body series????
Oh and I only brought this up because I was recently doing some research on glass. I need a new windshield and I can put in Lexan for the same price as factory glass. I am leaning towards the Lexan because lets face it... my car is a "RACE CAR"... it will not be on the street again.
But I dont want you to think I am bitching about it so my car will fit the rules.
I just dont see factory glass being a reasonable requirement for a stripped down, max effort, no holds barred 2900 lb race car... If it doesnt need wipers whats the point of glass.

I'm interested for '07. I'll need a class for foot brake, drag radials, full 3,880lbs weight, full interior, AC, cd with upgraded speakers and 97 coats of zaino.

Re: all f-body series????
no way dude! this is supposed to be entry level, zaino is worth like 20rwhp per coat. lol
the rules are evolving very quickly as we are getting a ton of feedback. please let your friends know about the seires and link them to the rules. the more feedback we get for this initial planning the better the series will be.

Re: all f-body series????
we have a few rules updates. their were cahnges to the power adder rules in all classes, pure street was changed to N/A only as suggested.
there is also information about body work posted up. looking for suggestions/feedback on that.
thanks to all the feedback we are getting the rules are coming together very quickly. keep it coming so we can have rules packages that are fun and fair to everyone.

Re: all f-body series????
we have made some more refinements to the rules. namely the nitrous rules in hot street.
i have started work on the long version of the rules and hope to have it posted up right after the east coast nats. things are looking good. we want to leave everything up for debate about another month, prolly until the east coast nats are over.
keep the feedback coming.
