'99 SS, how was Daytona?

So Ed, how did the trip to Daytona go, ya smacks?
Not a bad race for Jr. Getting third considering he was deep in "danger territory for the big one" more than half the race was a relief.

Re: '99 SS, how was Daytona?

Hey Ron

Daytona was great, as usual. They now allow you onto the track prior to the pre-race ceremonies, and you can get fairly close to the garages, walk behind pit lane, etc. Pretty cool.

I had the gang up by 5 am and were at the track a little after 7

I was disappointed Jr. didn't win, but 3rd was MUCH better than what I expected. I had him on the scanner, and his handling was terrible. He was really complaining about a bad push, and luckily that last pit stop enabled him to make some major chasis adjustments. All in all though, you really can't have a bad time at Daytona

Are you going to 'Cops N Rodders' this year?

Yep, I'm doing CnR.
It will take me a few days to get the car detailed though. I'll have to get to Walmart and buy some brake dust cleaner. Then hook up the outside hose again and turn the water back on. Move the "junk" from around the car. Locate the barbecue grill scraper to get the built up rubber off the splash guard. Yeah, it might take a few days but it should be nice and shiney for CnR.

Hey, that reminds me, Bob's car's engine compartment might actually be cleaner than mine for a change.

I haven't seen the NASCAR Pa plates. I'll have to go check them out. Only problem is that I have a special plate on the Trans now. Maybe one for the Taho...

It's a shame you're not able to personalize them, but I won't complain
I got the one with the Legacy logo.

Re: '99 SS, how was Daytona?

I told Carol that "I need this" for the Tahoe. I'm thinking of the #3.

Last year Jr finished second at the upcoming Las Vegas track. I'm hoping for the same. Just sucks to have two races and then a break...

Sweeeeettttt, Bob!
I know Dale Jarret drives the "big brown" truck, but who is driving the "WM" truck?

I like the "born on date" on the right rear fender of the 8 car.

Splendid "park job" by Jr in the pits...

and the rear bumper showing signs of "bump drafting".

Pretty cool! Thanks!!!
