Well, it should have been a 2 day job, but when we discovered Sunday afternoon that the SA rockers contacted the spring keepers we hit an impasse!
So we had to wait until Monday to call around the local shops. No one had promags in stock so day 3 was wasted when we had to order NSA rockers and guide plates to be shipped next day. Although we did use day 3 to detail the under carriage.
The car sounds unreal ! Nasty idle and the loudmouth above 4 G's is insane!
Re: 97TA.. it's growling again...
damit you have to get some vids up quick. I want to hear it!!!!! I was soo tempted to call out of work and stay up there with you guys but.. I would be in the toilet with my boss as I was working on a very important and high dollar job. I just finished it up today. That cam has to be bad *** in that car. I guess you got the VC's on ok?
As much as it sucks to find out about the rocker issue that way at least we caught it. That could have been a real problem if we missed it.

Re: 97TA.. it's growling again...
Ryan... sent an email to Dale to see about a dyno time. Maybe this Saturday if the weather isn't raining.
Bri... I have your spring measuring gizmo in my center console. We'll have to figure out a time to meet up.
Peresently Comcast is working on their connection to our neighborhood because of the "storm" that I missed while upstate. Television and internet connection keeps going off. But I will figure out the parts list that went with the cam install which beside assorted rocker, spring and pushrod hardware, also includes coil, opti, black water hoses, black water pump and even black oil filter.
I'll see about get pics maybe tomorrow. I have to be in Cape May Friday to work on my parents PC. Although, tomorrow I may find myself at the pool and in the jacuuzi as I spent a day underneath my 97 TA as a human detailing towel and being the manual "crank" while John did the rocker springs. There should be a slight oil sheen on the pool water following me about....
The 97 TA had a few good moments on the turnpike, but all in all I was a good boy as I don't want to beat on the car just yet. The car seems to get quieter above 80mph, though?!?!!? Bahahahaha. But if I just ease in the gas, the car just accelerate very easily. If I floor it... sounds like a rocket went off in the azz end.
But when I came off the Lansdale exit and used the back roads to worm my way home, the 97 TA has some bad "table manners" and was a bit unruly. I had to struggle with it to keep the idle up for the oil pressure at stop lights and bumper to bumper traffic. Maybe I was too over reactive with the lub-lub of the cam and the idle. I'm just attributing that to the need of a new stall TC and the fact that the long two hour run on the turnpike made the car idle lower than I am use to. I'll just put some of the parts stickers on my rear window so people know why it's behaving the way it is...
But it's pretty cool to arrive home and see the Tahoe blocking my side of the drivway... and the wife comes running out ot move it for me... and all I did was just pull up in the 97 TA and didn't even get out of the car. Uh, yeah the car has a real F'n' nice rumble. Bahahahahaha.
Well I'll be back later on today...

Oh yeah, Brian (Projectz28) didn't steer me wrong, and both Brian and John (Pampered-Z) really helped me out big time. I enjoyed that sound so much.. I realized after driving just over two hours to get back home that I never listened to a CD or the radio. Just the "sweet music" of the cam and the exhaust. Hey Bri, pretty funny that most of the photos that I have are camaro owners working on the TA.

Yeah we have to do a meet up soon somewhere. Ed, you have any ideas?
