97' Slp Ss
97' Slp Ss
Hey this is my second post and im not quite sure where to put it. I was just looking for some advice on this car i was going to purchase. Its from a private seller around my town. Its a 97' SLP Lt1 6Spd.
"This is an SLP car with ALL SLP options including LEVEL 2 suspension(Bilstein shocks Eibach springs and poly bushings) Hurst Shifter, Ram Air induction,SLP cat back exhaust and oil cooler In addition i have also done some minor mods including Motive 3.73 gears Hypertech Power Programmer and Spohn rear lower control arms. The car is in exceptional shape for a 97 with 100k mi on it only places on the car that show wear is the driver seat bolster which has a small tear in it and the drivers side carpet by the gas pedal where my foot has worn through the carpet Car also needs 2 tires but I am willing to have them put on for you if you want"
So my question is, with 102k miles, is this car worth is? Am i getting a deal? The price would be $6500.
Thanks for the help guys!

Re: 97' Slp Ss
I'd say it depends, where exactly are you from? I'm from NJ and 6500 is a decent price for a good looking LT1. I was lookin at a 95 TA that was well kept but did have 110k miles or so on it, and the guy wanted 7k for it. Unfortunately at the time I didn't have that much cash otherwise I would have taken it. Somebody else definitely did, though. Then there's the fact that it's an LT1 SS, I don't know exact numbers but they seem to be somewhat more rare. Sounds like a decent deal to me, but where you are, like what market for f-bodys is there, will have a big impact on what is considered a good deal or not.
Re: 97' Slp Ss
Im from Morris County, Rockaway to be exact. Unfortunately I called the guy to say i was coming with the money and he sold the car an hour before. It really sucked but i guess thats how stuff works haha. I did find another one though which was good. A 96' Z28. 92K miles, Manual, exactly what i was looking for. I mean its a year older but the two are almost identical. So hopefully that works out good. and btw its 500 dollars cheaper so idk, i guess ill see what happens. Where abouts are you from?
