ZZ-9 and Jot Hot Longies over winter?

Since my plans of head and cam were pretty much monetarily shot down, I am thinking of just doing the TPIS zz-9 cam and jet hot longtubes with true duals. Just wondering on approximate costs and anything good r bad you can say about the cam or headers...

I have had the ZZ9 cam in my car for 5 years and 60,000 + miles.
Dyno results in the sig, this is with ported stock heads and shorty headers with stock tune. I like the cam, but if I were doing it over, I would probably just go with a CC305. The ZZ9 cam is expensive!!

I have the ZZ9 in my 94 Z28 along with the rest of the mods in my signature.

It has a rough idle and pulls hard to 6000RPM. You will need a head port job for better breathing with the cam.

That was my other wuestion, since the ZZ_9 is sooo expensive and I am so cheap, is there a cam for less $$$$ that will provide the same results?

Most cams are 230-240$. Only TPIS and GTP sell cams for 375$ and over.

You can get cams from places like Combination Motorsports, Thunder Racing, Summit Racing and Nutek for under 250$. Combinatrion Motorsports is the "new kid on the block" and they have a large selection of cams plus an helpful techline.

Then you can get GMPP cams like the GM845, 846 and 847 for 209$ from GM dealerships. The GM845 is similar to the ZZ-9.

I used to have the TPIS ZZ-409 on stock heads with Hooker LTs and it ran pretty decent.
